We are advancing water restoration efforts in fishing communities across Nigeria.

Water is essential to our ecosystem, supporting both lives and livelihoods. Climate change, pollution, and natural factors are contributing to water scarcity worldwide.

Women and girls are most affected, as they rely on water for daily activities. This disparity increases their risks and limits socioeconomic opportunities.

In Ondo State, Z-Sustainability Lab Innovator, Adewale is advancing water restoration and recycling initiatives to address plastic pollution. These efforts protect vital community resources and foster new opportunities.

Reduce pollution.

Protect water resources.

Promote water conservation!

Celebrating a milestone!!!🥳🎉🎉

10,000 students across Africa! Nigeria, Malawi, Kenya, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Cameroon

This is not just a number to us. It’s 10,000 young people who now see the environment differently. Who ask better questions. Who are starting to care, act, and influence the spaces around them.

What makes this even more special is how it’s happening; through classrooms, through teachers, through young people stepping up to lead, and through communities that are slowly shifting practices that support nature conservation through place-based solutions.

Pledge for Nature was never just about awareness. It’s about raising a generation through environmental education, equipping young people early enough to lead bold actions for our planet.

To every student, teacher, volunteer, advisor, partner, and supporter who has been part of this journey so far —and to our partners, Global Changemakers, NATRO Organisation, Mudzi Cooking project, Green Earth Community Changemakers and Nature Positive Universities (NPU) —thank you. This milestone belongs to you too.

10,000 in… and we’re only getting started.
Now unto the next!🥳

The Real Cost of Smartphones

Countries like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chile, China, and Australia hold many of the minerals that make our smartphones possible.

But extracting them isn’t without consequences. Mining operations can leave behind toxic waste, pollute nearby rivers, and degrade soil, affecting both biodiversity and the communities that depend on these landscapes for their livelihoods. Long before a phone reaches our hands, nature has already paid part of the price.

We carry the world in our pockets, but rarely think about what it costs the planet.
What feels like a simple upgrade for us often translates to deeper environmental strain somewhere else.

The point isn’t to stop using technology, it’s to become more conscious about it.

In classrooms across our communities, we are equipping young people with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to understand the climate crisis and respond to it with action.

When children learn about sustainability, environmental responsibility, and nature protection early, they grow into informed leaders who make conscious choices for their communities and the planet.

Through our climate education programs, school engagements, and youth-led initiatives, we are not just raising awareness, we are building a generation that sees climate action as a responsibility, not an option.

School: World Class Academy, Lagos State, Nigeria.

We are excited for 2026, and we cannot wait to tell you everything we have in store.

This year, our mission is even clearer: youth-powered solutions using science and local knowledge to help fight climate change in Africa. We will help young people in local communities protect the environment and adapt to climate change by offering training programs that teach about the planet and sustainable practices. We will also provide guidance and support from experts to support project planning.

Our Z-Sustainability Lab interns are now working with partner groups, gaining hands-on experience in waste management and the circular economy. We cannot wait to show you everything they have been up to.

In the meantime, do you want to support our work for youth in Africa? Feel free to message or email us for more details on how you can get involved.
