URGENT FUNDRAISING – SUPPORT DISPLACED OWORONSHOKI FAMILIES

Over 700 families in Oworonshoki have lost their homes, their belongings, and their means of survival. Mothers are stranded, children are hungry, and many have nowhere left to sleep tonight.

We are calling on everyone—within Oworo, within Lagos, across Nigeria and all over the World—to stand with our people in this moment of deep pain.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will provide food, temporary shelter, and urgent relief for affected families.

When a family loses everything, even the smallest act of love becomes a lifeline. Their world has been shattered, but your kindness can help them hold on to hope. Please don’t let them face this alone.

🌿 Growing Together, Bridging Cultures: Our Inspiring Encounter with Katrin! 🌍🤝

🌱 Yesterday was an extraordinary day at our Oworonshoki community Allotment garden! We had the honor of being visited by Katrin, a passionate German journalist who was deeply impressed by our gardening project. 🏰💚

📝 Katrin was captivated by the spirit of our community and wanted to share our inspiring journey through her storytelling. She spent time interviewing some of our incredible allotment women, learning about their experiences, and discovering the beauty of cultivating not just plants but also lasting connections. 🌱🌿

🌍 It was heartwarming to see how our gardening project resonates across cultures, uniting us in a shared vision of sustainability and community support. Our green haven has become a symbol of hope, and Katrin's story will undoubtedly spread our message even further! 🌿🌏

Stay tuned for Katrin's upcoming article, as she shines a light on the positive impact of community gardening and the power of bridging cultures through a shared love for nature and community. 📰🌟

*REPORT ON THE VISIT TO ONIPANU IKEDC BUSINESS UNIT.*

Residents of Oworonshoki community paid a visit to IKEDC Onipanu business unit today 27th of October, 2022.
Oworonshoki community was in perpetual darkness in the last two weeks. No feedback whatsoever from IKEDC on why the community is in total darkness.
The residents of the community decides to make their grievieances known through agitation and consolidation.

Coincidentally, while members of the community were on their way to IKEDC headquarter, they met IKEDC workers at Olojojo bus-stop who were on their way to disconnect light from street poles in the community. The community sent them away from the community on the ground that " *No Light, No Bill, No disconnection* ". The community then told them not to visit Oworonshoki community until there is steady supply of electricity. Oworonshoki police who were at the scene also stood by the community as the stood firm to their claims.

Oworonshoki community members then proceed to IKEDC office at Onipanu. There was little altercation between the community and IKEDC staffs but that was resolved. The officials then request the community nominate six people to represent the community in a round table conversation while the rest wait for feedback.

The outcome of the round table discussion are as follows;

1. IKEDC will ensure Oworonshoki get fair supply of electricity heceforth. The Engineer promised to work on that immediately.

2. IKEDC Strategic plan for 2023 is to install a distributing transformer at in Berger, Iyana-Oworo substation. After this Oworonshoki community will be disconnected from Ogudu and connected to Iyana-Oworonshoki Sub-station

3. Customer Fair: Residents with huge electricity debt in the community can benefit from customer fair where debt is slashed and reduced by IKEDC.
