Nasarawa Visionary Youth Network (NVYN) Commemorates World Hygiene Day with Menstrual Hygiene Sensitization Program

In an inspiring initiative to promote menstrual hygiene awareness, the Nasarawa Visionary Youth Network (NVYN) successfully held a sensitization program for female students at Government Secondary School Lafia East, coinciding with World Hygiene Day.

This commendable event aimed to educate students on the importance of menstrual hygiene management, breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation and equipping young women with the knowledge they need to care for themselves during their menstrual cycles. Expert speakers engaged the students in discussions about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the importance of using menstrual products.

To further support the students, NVYN generously distributed menstrual hygiene kits, including sanitary pads, to 100 female students. This initiative not only provided essential items but also reinforced the message that menstrual health is a vital aspect of personal hygiene and overall well-being.

NVYN is committed to raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and continues to advocate for the health and empowerment of young women in our community. This effort marks an important step in ensuring that all girls have access to the information and resources they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.

Together, we can foster a society where menstrual hygiene is recognized as an essential component of health, equity, and empowerment.
