KITA Update: What is the old saying? When you want a job done right, give it to a woman. Want to introduce supporters of KITA to these fantastic, hard working women who are single-handedly transforming our vision into reality. Our Principal Patience Nelly and Assistant Principal Betty Joseph.

The words that would describe Betty and Patience Nelly are innovative, determined, smart, and relentless! They have grown the school to its highest level since its inception; opened it up to day students, and have registered the first women to the school!

We are extremely proud and honored to have these two ladies lead us into 2023!

It's been a while since I have given an update on KITA for a number of reasons! But perhaps the major reason for the silence is "we are shifting gears!" The school continues to evolve and grow despite the many challenges Nigeria continues to present.

KITA has a record 45 students enrolled and now welcomes "day" students and have enrolled our first GIRL!! AND the school is now headed by our first "woman" Principal and assistant Principal.

If you follow Paul Kato then you also know that we're in the process of establishing a "base" in Ghana; this is an effort to be more hands on with the school in Nigeria (one hour flight as opposed to 13 from the states). And who knows...KITA Ghana???

Thank you all for those who have and continue to support KITA! We are just getting started. Seasons Greetings to all!

KITA Update: All students are now at home. Added a new dimension to keep the kids occupied over break. The video below shows the new Ahmed Musa in Kaduna, a modern beautiful soccer facility that is open to rent. Each week we are renting an hour for the boys to come train and (keep them out of trouble).

Our 3 boys are excitedly awaiting their trip to Ghana. (Unfortunately we did not get the 4th boys passport in time for this trip; but atleast now he has it). Preparations are in full swing and the boys leave Kaduna saturday to get their covid testing in Lagos; and they'll be in Accra Ghana on monday morning to join their colleagues from Togo and Ghana. They will be assessed by 2 coaches from Rush USA...should be a great time for all!!

We continue to prepare our bus full of stuff to be shipped in the next month or 2. We still have room for more stuff. Thanks!

Training Facility developed by a former professional National team player and open to rent to teams.

Sorry quite long! Update on KITA: On Wednesday March 31 the kids leave campus, for home. Grateful to have "survived" this year. Not only did we conquer it; we thrived! We look forward to some rest and preparation for the upcoming year for our staff.

Praying covid subsides as I plan to make the journey back to Nigeria sometime in the next few months ( a trip I generally make 2-3 times a year); its now been over a year. Lots of details and loose ends to take care of. These are trips that give our staff support and administrative guidance as we continue to grow and influence our community.

We are once again in the growth mode. At the school we are building a kitchen and will be adding more classrooms; most of our cooking has been done under a shed and we have grown to need a bigger kitchen that is out of the rain...think Toto "Rains in Africa"...it pours!! And our field could use some serious tender loving care..ground is so hard we go through balls and footwear at an astonishing rate!

We have invested in a small solar power system as we have outgrown our water pumping capacity and our generators have been "over repaired". We opted for solar to provide the dorms and classrooms with lights; and a small water solar powered water pump that feeds the overhead tank.

We are preparing for the planting season of our farms. A very labor intensive task that provides lots of employment opportunities for the locals. We hope to expand the farm to meet our growing needs. We have also invested in some chickens for eggs which provides food for the school, as well as income for the school when school not in session.

How can you help? 2 ways (and we truly thank those that have already assisted us). Find below a picture of a bus that we bought as part of a donation to the school. This is much needed for transporting students as well as food stuff for the school. We have started filling the bus with "good" soccer equipment, classroom supplies, clothing items, etc. If you have any quality products that you think would be helpful please send me a private message. We plan to send the bus full of stuff in a container to the school in the coming weeks. Yes this is going to very expensive and we could also use any monetary donations to offset the cost(we work alot on faith and God's provision in this project :)) Let me tell you this stuff is not cheap.

Sorry this is a bit long. But we are thankful to all those that support our efforts; through this very hard year we continue to march forward in faith and God's guidance and provision. Thank you for all the kind words and assistance, it means the world to us. And if you ever truly want to get involved in this journey reach out please!!

P.S. If you have been keeping up with my posts. We were NOT able to get our fourth player a passport for the trip to Ghana...disappointing. But on April 12 we have 3 players and our coach headed to Ghana. Thanks!

It's been a year like no other! Covid has had a huge impact on KITA. We (like everybody else) faced the challenges Covid threw our way. Thankful to begin resuming "somewhat" of a schedule.

Quick Updates: We are grateful for God's providence. We were able to utilize the tablets donated to us by Mason Schools a few years ago for our online learning. We continued to grow our farms output through the pandemic and are confident of having enough food for the upcoming year. We plan to add more buildings and structures to handle our growth.

All in our march to self-sustainability and continued welfare of Nigerian children. While we have several challenges ahead of us: relative insecurity (see the walls in the video), galloping inflation in food supplies, and the struggle for school fees that parents have to bear in very difficult circumstances ($600 a year); we are grateful for the opportunity afforded us to be of service. Thank you to all that have and continue to support our efforts. We are making a difference!!

It’s been a rough few months, as in most parts of the world. We have not only had to contend with Covid but also with civil unrest in Nigeria; but we persist and push forward.

Quick update. As I previously mentioned 2 of players have been selected and are vying for a spot on the national team. After the unrest in Abuja we are still awaiting word on when the next trials will be. KITA is fully open and face to face instruction is happening as well as all activities with some safety and Covid guidelines in place.

KITA will run a shortened semester and get as much instruction in as we can, being cognizant of the stress and trauma these kids may have experienced over the past few months.

Our farms have been doing great! And we look forward to harvesting in the upcoming weeks. Thankful for the provision this will provide. In addition we are expanding our farm to include poultry farm ( a supplement to our crop farming) which will give the students added responsibilities and leadership opportunities. As well as provide much needed nourishment to the students' diet.

KITA has a dream. That Nigeria will produce hard working, productive leaders of the future. A residential school with 3 primary goals: produce top tier disci...

Thought I would share with you a message to our KITA parents. Indeed I worry about Africa...please take the time to be thankful.

Good day all! The world is going through something that has never happened before and I encourage everybody to do the best you can in these trying times, surely God will see us through.

Let me encourage you to please find time to read with your child. At this point content is not critical but the mere act of reading and doing simple arithmetic is helpful. Here in America we have more resources and as teachers are engaging our students each and everyday electronically. We don’t have that capability in Nigeria, but we must find our own way to engage our students.

For those of you that have access to the internet even briefly I will send you links that may be able to help. Thank you and blessings to you all! We are KITA and we CAN do this!!

Beautiful dreamers!
