Good morning Nigeria and Nigerians.

As we commemorate Democracy Day, we celebrate not only the endurance of democratic governance but also the resilience, energy, and potential of Nigeria's youth.

Democracy has created opportunities for participation and representation, but it is important to acknowledge that our system still has significant flaws and many areas that require improvement. Millions of young Nigerians continue to face challenges such as unemployment, limited access to quality education, inadequate opportunities for meaningful political participation, and economic uncertainty.

A democracy cannot reach its full potential when its youth, the largest and most vibrant segment of the population, are left on the margins. The strength of any democratic system lies in its ability to create opportunities, protect rights, and empower young people to contribute to national development.

This Democracy Day should serve as a reminder that the future of Nigeria depends on how well we invest in its youth today. Beyond celebrating democratic ideals, we must work towards building institutions and policies that give young people a genuine stake in governance, economic growth, and decision-making.

To the young people of Nigeria, your voice matters, your participation matters, and your future matters. Continue to engage constructively, demand accountability, and contribute positively to the development of our nation.

Happy Democracy Day. May we build a stronger democracy that works not just for the youth, but with the youth. 🇳🇬

God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.
God bless the Nigerian Youth.

The Campus Accountability Tour at Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda was a resounding success.

On Tuesday, April 28th, students turned out in strong numbers at the Permanent Site to engage in meaningful conversations around youth leadership, accountability, and the future of governance. The energy, curiosity, and bold contributions from participants reflected a generation that is not only aware of its power but ready to use it.

A major highlight of the event was a thought-provoking debate between the SUG and SRC on the topic: “Nigerian Corruption: Who Is to Blame, the Leaders or the Citizens?” The session sparked critical thinking, deep reflection, and honest dialogue, challenging participants to rethink responsibility and their role in driving change.

Participants also gained practical insights on local government autonomy, understanding public budgets, and the importance of active citizenship in strengthening transparency and accountability at the grassroots level.
From insightful questions to practical ideas on driving responsible leadership, the dialogue went beyond words it sparked commitment.

We extend our appreciation to all students, organizers, and partners, especially Nigerian Youth Future Fund Naijayouthfund, for supporting and funding this impactful initiative. Your involvement made this more than an event; it became a movement.

This is just the beginning. The conversation continues.

Rescue Future Generation Charity Initiative (RFG), as a Northwest youth consortium member and principal implementing organization, deeply appreciates the opportunity to contribute to this important process. We extend our sincere gratitude to Bridge Connect Africa Initiative for its leadership, collaboration, and commitment to strengthening youth participation in governance.

We are pleased to reflect on the successful convening of the Zamfara State Youth Policy Dialogue Workshop, held on 23rd April 2026 at Jaiz Hotel, Gusau.

The Dialogue, with Zamfara State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in partnership with Bridge Connect, was implemented under the Youth Leading Change Program (YLCP) with support from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund Naijayouthfund.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders from government, civil society, development partners, and the youth ecosystem to engage in meaningful discussions aimed at strengthening youth policy development, review, and implementation in Zamfara State. It provided a strategic platform to identify gaps, align priorities, and co-create actionable steps toward a functional and inclusive youth policy framework.

We also acknowledge and appreciate our fellow consortium partners, including Zamfara Youth Lead , NONAPWD, and the dedicated YLCP Fellows, whose contributions were instrumental to the success of the Dialogue.

Together, we remain committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-based, and youth-driven policy processes that will shape a better future for young people in Zamfara State.
