The end of radiation may be near for brain cancer

In a stunning breakthrough, researchers have developed a cancer vaccine that has eradicated a deadly brain tumor in clinical trials—without the need for chemotherapy or radiation. This revolutionary vaccine uses the body’s own immune system to target and destroy cancer cells, offering a less invasive and potentially life-saving alternative to the harsh treatments that have long been the standard for brain cancer.

For years, brain tumors have been among the most difficult cancers to treat, with survival rates remaining low due to the aggressive nature of the disease and the limitations of traditional treatments. But this vaccine, which is currently in further trials, has shown incredible promise by stimulating the immune system to attack tumor cells directly, without the severe side effects of radiation and chemotherapy.

The implications for future cancer treatment are huge. If this vaccine continues to show success, it could mark the beginning of a new era in oncology—one where targeted treatments are not only more effective but also far less damaging to the body.

This breakthrough reminds us that the future of cancer treatment is bright, and perhaps, the cure we’ve long hoped for is closer than we think.

POTATO CONSUMPTION AND DIABETES IN PREGNANCY

Okay, parents and parents-to-be, listen up!

There's a new scientific study published by an influential medical journal called BMJ, which reports that higher levels of potato consumption before pregnancy are associated with greater risk of diabetes during pregnancy.

The good news is that the study has also found that substituting potatoes with other vegetables, legumes, or whole grain foods might lower the risk.

So, if you are a woman within the reproductive age with possibility of getting pregnant any time soon, my advice is to stay away if you can, or eat in moderation if you must.

Each time you feel like eating chips, remember that your "akara" may be a better option for you.

I'm posting this because I know how some people take chips to be big deal in some quarters... they take it in the morning, in the afternoon and at night to show that "they have arrived."
