Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion, and giving. Sadly, many in our communities struggle to access even one nutritious meal per day. The gratitude on people's faces says it all, and it's a feeling that cannot be bought.
In 2026, HYCF aims to:
Prepare and distribute over 10,000 cooked meal packs
Reach more hospitals, mosques, Local Qurāanic schools, and underserved localities
Deliver Eid food packs to families so they can celebrate with dignity and joy.
Expand our reach to more low-income neighbourhoods and children in Qurāanic education centres

The Power of Giving in Ramadan and Prophetic Narrations on Feeding the Needy
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasised the immense rewards of feeding others, especially during Ramadan. He said:
āGuard yourselves against the Fire (of Hell), even if it be only with half a date fruit (given in charity).ā [Sahih al-Bukhari 1413]. This is further reinforced by the blameworthy attribute described in Surah Ma'un, verse 3: "And does not encourage the feeding of the poor."
āThe best of you are those who feed others.ā [Musnad Aįø„mad 3926]
āWhoever gives iftar to a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.ā [Sunan at-Tirmidhi 807 and Ibn Maajah 1746]
Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever alleviates the need of a needy person, Allah will alleviate his needs in this world and the Hereafter. [Sunan Ibn Majah, 225]
As we approach Ramadan 2026, the Hajiya Yaya Charity Foundation (HYCF) is once again seeking your support to help us feed hundreds of fasting families, hospital patients, and vulnerable communities in Katsina, Nigeria.
Weāre building on the momentum of two impactful years ā 2024 and 2025 ā and aiming even higher this year, in shaa Allah.

Ramadan 2024 Highlights
Thanks to your support, we:
Served over 8,000 food portions
Reached 4 hospitals, multiple mosques, Qurāanic schools, and public stations
Provided 126 Eid packs with rice, pasta, seasoning, and cash
Raised Ā£1,445 + ā¦100,000 (ā ā¦2.65 million), used transparently for food, packaging, and distribution.
Ramadan 2025 Highlights
With further generosity from donors like you, we:
Distributed 275ā300 cooked packs daily to 3 major hospitals
Sent 50ā70 packs daily to a mosque
Delivered 70ā100 packs daily within Unguwar Alkali, including a Qurāanic school
Shared 120 Eid packs, each feeding up to 25 people
Raised a total of ~ā¦2.8 million (approx. Ā£1446 + N158,000)
