e root word ‘Sidq’ (صدق) which means truth. Sadaqah Jariyah (صدقة جارية) means continous/ongoing charity. A continuous charity is an action that someone does which remains active even after the person is dead. For example, if a person donates a copy of The Holy Qur’an to a mosque and is used by many worshippers visiting the mosque – that donor will be rewarded even when he/she leaves this Earth. Subhan’Allah. Do You See The Beauty? The beauty of Sadaqah Jariyah is that it is a form of charity which will provide you with rewards for as long as people benefit from your good deeds. The Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said: “When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)”
