MEETING REPORT

Date: 31st July, 2026
Venue: SUG Secretariat

The meeting commenced with members in attendance and was a special and memorable gathering. We were honored with a surprise visit from one of our former presidents, who took time to encourage and mentor members.

Our former president from past administrations delivered an inspiring talk on "Balancing Academic Life and Social Life." One of the key messages he emphasized was his favorite quote:

"Play like you never read, and read like you never played."

He encouraged members to maintain a healthy balance between academics and social activities. He advised us, like a father would counsel his children, to remain focused on our studies while also building meaningful relationships. He stressed that success is not based solely on academic excellence but also on networking and building valuable connections, which can create opportunities and make it easier to secure employment after graduation.

The meeting also focused on examination preparation. Members were encouraged to study diligently, prepare adequately for their examinations, and avoid all forms of examination malpractice and its consequences, as such acts could jeopardize their academic future.

Finally, members were reminded about the upcoming picnic scheduled for Sunday, 2nd August, 2026. The importance of participation and cooperation was emphasized to ensure the event is enjoyable and successful for everyone.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with members expressing appreciation for the valuable advice shared by the guest speaker and looking forward to both the forthcoming examinations and the picnic.
