Today, we celebrate the resilience, aspirations, and limitless potential of every African child.

Across the continent, millions of children continue to face barriers that threaten their health, education, protection, and future. Yet every child has the fundamental right to grow up in an environment where they can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.

This year’s theme, “Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa,” serves as a powerful reminder that access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene is not a privilege. It is a fundamental right.

At RAHAMA, we remain committed to advancing the rights, well being, and opportunities of children, particularly girls, through advocacy, empowerment, and community driven interventions.

As we commemorate the International Day of the African Child, we call on governments, communities, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen investments in children and ensure that no child is left behind.

Together, we can build a future where every child has the opportunity to survive, learn, grow, and succeed.

Because every child deserves more than a future of hope. They deserve a future of possibilities.

Promoting Menstrual Health and Dignity

To commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day in Kankia LGA, Katsina State, we conducted school outreach activities aimed at empowering adolescent girls with the knowledge and skills needed for safe menstrual hygiene management.

Through interactive sessions, pupils learned about menstrual health, addressed common myths and misconceptions, participated in reusable pad-making demonstrations, and received sanitary pads to support their menstrual hygiene needs.

By engaging both pupils and teachers, we reinforced the importance of creating supportive environments where girls can manage menstruation safely, confidently, and with dignity.

Together, we are advancing menstrual health, breaking stigma, and empowering girls to stay healthy, informed, and in school.

Laying the Foundation for Impact✨

Our team successfully conducted a Baseline Assessment in Kankia and Zango LGAs of Katsina State for the ECHO HIP Project. This critical exercise was undertaken to establish key benchmarks, assess existing conditions, and identify priority needs to inform effective project implementation.

The insights generated provide a strong evidence base for strategic decision-making, targeted interventions, and the measurement of project outcomes over time. By grounding implementation in data and community realities, the project is better positioned to deliver sustainable and measurable impact.

The smiles of these girls remind us why investing in childhood, education, and protection matters. Every child deserves the chance to grow up in a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.

Childhood is a time for learning, exploration, and discovery. Yet many girls continue to face barriers that limit their opportunities and put their wellbeing at risk.

Through the Girls Education and Protection Program (GEPP), supported by , we are helping create opportunities for girls to access education, build confidence, and pursue brighter futures.

Together, we can help ensure that every girl is protected, valued, and empowered to succeed.

🛎️ TB Reminder: Every Dose Counts!

Tuberculosis (TB) is curable, but only when treatment is taken every day and completed as prescribed.

Missing doses or stopping treatment too early can allow the bacteria to become stronger and lead to Drug-Resistant TB (DR-TB) which is more difficult, expensive and time-consuming to treat.

✅ Take your medication every day.
✅ Don’t skip doses.
✅ Complete your full treatment, even if you start feeling better.

Your commitment to treatment protects not only your health but also your family and community.

Stay on track. Stay healthy. Stop TB.
