INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2026

Theme: Give to gain’ a call to help forge gender equality through abundant giving.

It’s yet another celebration of hard work, resilience, courage, understanding, love, care, dedication and lots more for women.
Kano CARES program has supported more than 20,000 women across 44 LGAs in kano with :
1. Agricultural Assets (cereal grinding machines, vegetable processing machines, popcorn making machines etc)
2. Agricultural inputs (improved seeds of maize, soybean, groundnut and sorghum, fertilizers, herbicide, insecticide etc)
3: feeder roads : kano CARES has rehabilitated 120 kilometers freder roads across 44 LGAs in kano making it easy for them to transport farm produce to their homes and market places.
4.Wet markets : similarly kano CARES has upgraded VIP toilets providing female section located at rural weekly markets acrross the state to enable women use the toilets while in markets.

The independent verification agents (IVAs) of Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus program (Kano CARES) have completed their verification exercise in Kano state.
Kano CARES is a pforR program that requires the full utilization of the support given to the poor and vulnerable households in Kano.
The program supports farmers with inputs which consist of fertilizer, seeds, agro chemicals, Agricultural assets which also simplify the processing and production of Agricultural products. Similar Kano CARES rehabilitates rural access roads, upgrading of tertiary irrigation canals and public convenient toilets in rural markets.
The IVAs team which was led by Dr Auwal Muhammad visited Minjibir, Makoda, Danbatta, Karaye,Gwarzo ,kabo, Rimin gado, Dawakin kudu, tofa and Bunkure among others.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihir raju'un

With total submission to Allahu SWT, It is with great sorrow that I announce the demise of the "Delivery Head" Kano CARES program Alhaji Rufa'i Halilu, he passed away on Monday 25th November 2024 after a brief illness at AKTH Kano.
He has since been buried according to Islamic teachings.
Indeed, this is a great loss to his family and Kano CARES team at large.
May aljannatul Firdaus be his final abode.

The Executive governor of Kano state Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf paid a surprise visit to Kano CARES project head office today 8/08/24.

The governor was received by Kano CARES head of Delivery Rufa'i Halilu and other officers of the project.

Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf had a brief discussion with Rufa'i Halilu on how the project can excel under his leadership.

The content of the brief discussion between the Governor and Rufa'i Halilu remain unknown.

The meeting is aimed at discussing the outcome of the reported activities of NG CARES program and to identify and address any challenges that may hinder the success of the project . 👆

Kano CARES project empowers over 7000 poor and vulnerable households.

Kano CARES project has disbursed agricultural input and assets to over seven thousand beneficiaries between January and February 2024 in Kano.
The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of planning and Budget, also the chairman of the state CARES steering Committee Alhaji Musa Sulaiman Shanono made this known during an interview with Newsmen.
He said Kano state government under the leadership of Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf is committed to empowering the poor and vulnerable across the state.
He added that, Kano CARES project is a project that demands result which at the end of the day the result is being verified by Independent verification agents (IVA) before reimbursement.
Also the Delivery head of the project Rufa'i Halilu pleaded with the beneficiaries not to sell or mishandle what is been given to them.
Some of the beneficiaries pledged to utilize and sustain the assets they were empowered with.
The items disbursed include fertilizer, seed, agro chemicals, solar water pump, solar sprayer, cereal grinding machine, vegetable processing machines, pop corn machines among others.

The Nigeria Covid19 Action Recovery and economic stimulus project (Kano CARES) has disbursed agricultural inputs (50 heads of day old chicks, 4 bags of feeds and medication) and assets (vegetable processing machines, cereal grinding machines) to the poor and vulnerable households across Kano state.
This is to help them recover from the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on their economy and keep them busy with a small business that will sustain and carter for their daily needs.
