HON. DR. ILIYA SULEIMAN SWORN IN AS SPECIAL ADVISER ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT, VOWS TO ADVANCE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN GOMBE

The immediate past Executive Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Area, Hon. (Dr.) Iliya Suleiman MPI (Togor Yamban Kaltungo), has been sworn in as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Gombe State on Youth Engagement.

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Saturday at the International Conference Centre, Gombe, marked the inauguration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s newly constituted cabinet. The event was attended by top government officials, party leaders, traditional rulers, and other distinguished guests.

Speaking after taking the oath of office, Hon. Dr. Suleiman expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as a call to greater service.

“I am deeply honoured by this opportunity to serve. I sincerely thank His Excellency for this trust and assure him of my unwavering commitment to advancing youth development through innovative ideas, strategic engagement, and impactful programmes that will create greater opportunities for young people across Gombe State,” he said.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, while inaugurating the new cabinet, charged the appointees to hit the ground running and work collectively in delivering the administration’s vision for the continued progress and development of Gombe State.

Hon. Dr. Suleiman pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by working closely with relevant stakeholders to promote youth inclusion, empowerment, and meaningful participation in governance.

Former Executive Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Council, Hon. (Dr) Iliya Suleiman, MPI (Togor Yamban Kaltungo), today attended the annual Inter-House Sports Competition of ECWA L. Crawford Secondary School, Kaltungo, as the Special Guest of Honour, joining students, teachers, parents, and community leaders in celebrating one of the school's most cherished traditions.

The colourful event brought together participants from the various houses in a display of athletic talent, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition. In recognition of his presence and contributions to education and community development, a special match pass was conducted in honour of the former Chairman, drawing applause and admiration from attendees.

Speaking during the occasion, Hon. Dr. Iliya Suleiman commended the management of the school for sustaining a culture that promotes both academic and extracurricular excellence. He described sports as an important tool for character building, leadership development, and social cohesion among young people.

EID EL KABIR: HON. ILIYA SULEIMAN JOINS MUSLIM FAITHFUL TO CELEBRATE, OFFERS PRAYERS FOR PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF KALTUNGO

Hon. Iliya Suleiman MPI, (Togor Yamban Kaltungo) has joined Muslim faithful in Kaltungo and beyond in celebrating this year’s Eid El Kabir, calling on citizens to uphold the values of sacrifice, unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence which the festival represents.

As part of the Eid activities, Hon. Iliya Suleiman attended the royal Durbar and special prayer session held at the palace of the Mai Kaltungo, where traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and residents gathered to pray for peace, unity, and development in the area.

In his Eid message, Hon. Iliya Suleiman congratulated the Muslim Ummah for witnessing yet another blessed season of worship and reflection, while urging residents to continue promoting harmony, understanding, and collective progress within the community.

He emphasized that Eid El Kabir serves as a reminder of the importance of faith, obedience, selflessness, and service to humanity, noting that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity.

Also speaking during the celebration, the Royal Father, Engr. Sale Muhammadu OON, Mai Kaltungo, called on citizens to remain peaceful, tolerant, and united in order to attract meaningful development and progress to the people of Kaltungo.
