Today was great @ Imperial School, Kudende, Kaduna as our team Children and Young People Living for Peace (CYPLP) engaged through storytelling with students of the school on the topic - "Before You ".

It was really interactive as listened carefully to the story of a young of 18 years after secondary , deceived by an adult who pretended to be her former school mate through the , using the real pictures of her school mate in disguised. The Man used to cloned his voice exactly like that of her former and portrayed she's now residing abroad, with good life.

Desirous for greener pastures, the girl was introduced to a group of people that can help facilitate her trip and they offered to help her either through sea or route. She opted going through desert but regretted her life in the midst of "no return" shortly after the journey began. Desert became a very long journey with great taste for water and food. That urine is used to quenching tastiness. It was really a horrible situation and she cried and cried without help.

On arrival, she was handed over to a boss-lady and started work. Work that men and at times up to 10 different men will meet with her for a pay. But the pay doesn't gets to her than to the boss-lady only.

One day she felt sick and doctor diagnosed her with . She was immediately returned back through Mediterranean sea and upon return, her condition got worse as the experience through irregular migration has caused her mental health issues, further pushed her into drug use and abuse, and exposes her vulnerability to social vices and crimes.

One day her health got worst and she couldn't afford going to hospital, and was found dead later with six month old pregnancy. So that was how she ended up her life in search of greener pastures through unsafe ways. Questions were asked by students and answers given clearly.

We then exposed safe ways students like them can take when they want to migrate for greener pastures abroad and why it matters most now and in future. Students were empowered to share learnings with peers after the program.

and , and the whole school management were so happy for this kind of and program, and asked for repeatation and so much more.

Access to for in incarceration is far and wide. I mean how and what women in go through monthly managing their cycle. I mean it''s really a terrible situation if you can imagine.

Most women prison inmates are abandoned by family members and for your information, in prisons there are no shops to buy any. If you don't have, what will be alternative? Dirty rags if your guess is right. That's the situation people find themselves in, exposing so many to terrible *xual and complications during the and after imprisonment, moves back with it into the and spread.

The issue is not about stigmatizing women inmates but recognizing that some get in there by mistake, could be innocent and so many other things. And any is vulnerable.

Every three months, our team visit prisons to carry out menstrual talk with women inmates and distribute free sanitary pads. And everytime we go, is always heartbroken that common pads are not common, but very precious gifts. They rain prayers on us always. The picture below is the last visitation we carried.

shouldn't be luxury but it is to many just for being girls. Every month, these girls as young as 10 years old especially those from poor care, struggle to manage their monthly . They struggle through it for years into adulthood.

Every month is with anxiety on how and what they will use during their cycle. Life of a girl child? You wouldn't understand if you are not one.

Every month comes with time of shame to those who can't afford sanitary pads as they get stained in public. So some will skip school just because of it. Some will use dirty rags, leaves without minding the health consequence.

Some are pushed to having multiple s*x partners at early age so they can have money to afford it. And so many other vulnerability.

That's why we are on a crowdfunding mission @ Children and Young People Living for Peace with a campaign to raise N1m to support our local initiative tagged "PadHer Future".

An initiative to promote menstrual health education and distribution of sanitary pads at schools for teen school girls.

This initiative can help less fortunate teen girls overcome menstrual poverty and keep them at schools and advance girl-child .

is sustainable means of job creation especially to and bulge population in ,

It can create livelihoods and strengthen economy of most families. Agriculture and farming should not be positioned or made to be seen as business for retired military men in Nigeria.

That's why we are opening access to unlimited opportunities for everyone in any little commercial scale and sense through our Agric Business School initiative. To help boost security, reduced and end .

Our team Children and Young People Living for Peace organizes Agricultural business classes and workshops for in husbandry, and crops cultivation to skill them up, provide them with tools that exposes them to better information, including various agricultural value chains so they can explore them to their economic gains.

The program aim at bridging gaps, counter vulnerability of youths and women into social vices and unsafe abroad for purported greener pastures.

Inter ethnic and neighboring conflicts happens and most times become reoccurring pattern for , , and .

Poor communities once living together, could all of a sudden found themselves in divisive heat up over natural resources and or infrastructures leading to explosion of tension, pushed into full blown conflict crisis where lives and properties are destroyed.

Our team Children and Young People Living for Peace work with communities especially two neighboring communities-in-conflict to disecalate tension, open up rooms for dialogues between the communities, mediate and reconcile their differences, build trust and understanding, and foster the spirit of forgiveness, oneness and cohesion at grassroot levels.

This workshop brought youth group leaders from two communities that were in conflict over a transformer and supply swap of electricity in the two neighboring communities.

At the end of our program, both communities realized what made them to fight were just grounded on rumors, and . They forgave themselves and agreed to living together in .

groups are and includes village or community based security group, vigilantes, Civilian Joint Task Force(JTF) etc. They are in most instances doing excellent work at levels to keep the community safe and peaceful.

However, without proper training, sensitization and awareness on human , most of their actions could amount to gross of 's rights as they use torture to settle scores between people, they judge and pronounced accused guilty. And in such instances make themselves the prosecutor and the judge, without knowing they don't have such power.

Nobody have any right to hurt or torture anyone no matter the crime, as accused is still innocent untill proven guilty. In most cases, the use of torture have caused disharmony in communities or escalate same.

So informal security groups will need to know their boundaries and primarily about human rights for communal Peace.

Our team Children and Young People Living for Peace organizes trainings for informal security groups to bring the elementary knowledge of human rights to them, so they can better understand their role, limitations and boundaries, including the rare knowledge and skills of conflict resolutions.

We empower them with tools so they are able to use the skills in resolving cases amicably with respect to human rights and sort out grievances before escalation at grassroot communities.
