🎥 WE LISTENED. NOW, WE MUST ACT.

What happens when we stop speaking for women and start listening to them?

As part of our Listening Tour across communities in Kaduna State, we engaged women, political leaders, traditional and religious leaders, young people and other stakeholders to understand the real barriers preventing women from fully participating in politics and governance.

What we heard was powerful.

From financial barriers and political structures to harmful stereotypes, discrimination and the persistent perception that women who participate in politics are not “respectable,” the voices we encountered revealed challenges that cannot be ignored.

But we also heard something else: women are ready. Women can lead. And communities are willing to support change.

This captures some of the voices, experiences and key findings from the Listening Tour.

We embarked on a listening tour across communities in six Local Government Areas in Kaduna State to better understand the barriers women face in fully participating in politics.

We listened to women, persons with disabilities, community leaders, political actors, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders—and here is what they had to say.

Their voices, experiences, and recommendations are captured in our report.
