Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
The UOSA Waqf Initiative WhatsApp Channel has been created to keep everyone informed and engaged on this noble and sustainable initiative.
🕌 What is the UOSA Waqf Initiative?
The UOSA Waqf Initiative is a Ṣadaqatul Jāriyah (lasting charity) inspired by the noble example of Sayyidina Uthman ibn Affan (RA). It is designed to build a sustainable Waqf fund that continues to benefit the Ummah for generations.
UOSA has, over the years, supported:
Members and teachers facing financial hardship or illness
Orphans of deceased members
Building on these efforts, the Association is launching the UOSA Waqf Initiative with a target seed corpus of ₦20,000,000.
The Waqf fund will be preserved and invested in Shariah-compliant ventures, while only the returns generated will be used for:
Welfare support
Educational assistance, including scholarships for indigent and orphaned students
Empowerment initiatives such as a Skill Acquisition Centre
This model ensures continuity and sustainability, so support can continue long-term without frequent fundraising.
📌 On the WhatsApp channel, you will receive:
Clear explanations of the UOSA Waqf Initiative
Updates on funds received and progress towards the target
Periodic accountability and transparency reports
Donor acknowledgements and Waqf certificates
Updates on how the Waqf is impacting lives
Following the channel helps you understand the vision, trust the process, and be part of a lasting charity whose reward continues even after death, by Allah’s permission.
