GGMI mission and vision is to pursuit good governance through:
(a) Providing information on deliberations, activities, events and workings of the federal government, state government, local governments and the legislators at the local, state and federal levels, using modern methods of communication
such as the internet, mobile phones, print and electronic media,etc;
(b) Support for a participatory system of citizens and civil society involvement in the policy and law making process at all levels of government. (c) Initiate complaints proceedings in international and regional legal mechanisms for the promotion of greater transparency and accountability in governance and respect for human rights and the rule of law. (d) Research and publication on issues of democracy, development and good governance, particularly advocating constructive policy alternatives. (e) Training meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences to identify, formulate and design new and/or alternative policies for integration into the national policy process and to build awareness and knowledge. (f) Engage in fact-finding, research, alternative policy advocacy, legal actions against perpetrators of human rights abuses, training grassroots and community leaders, and advocacy campaigns. (g) Consistently promotes and advocates integrity, fairness, accountability, transparency, excellence, and social and environmental responsibility;
(h) Proactively engages with regulatory agencies and other governance organizations to contribute to the continuous development of appropriate and progressive rules, standards and practices on good governance
(I) Provides a forum/venue to share and exchange ideas on good governance for professional development and cooperation; and
(j) Provides training, knowledge and resources on good governance to promote its advocacy and practice.
