The Honorable Member, House of Representatives
Hon. Hussaini Muhammad Jallo
Member representing Igabi federal constituency.
OPEN LETTER TO HONORABLE HUSSAINI JALLO.
We, the Igabi Local Government Student Association, would like to express our gratitude for the scholarship awards granted to 205 students from Igabi local Government area. This gesture is a testament to your commitment to education and the welfare of our students.
However, we humbly bring to your attention a concern regarding the distribution of these scholarships. With 12 wards in our local government area, it is disheartening to note that almost 175 scholarships were awarded to students from a single ward, Rigachikun while other wards shared 30 slots within them. This raises concerns about inclusivity and fairness, particularly given the contributions of students from other wards to your emergence as the winner of the election.
We understand that your intention might have been to support students in need, but this approach may inadvertently create perceptions of favoritism. As a representative of our constituency, we kindly request that you consider reviewing your scholarship allocation process to ensure that it is more inclusive and representative of all wards.
We appreciate your efforts to support our students and look forward to seeing more inclusive initiatives in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Musa Ismail Bukhari
Chairman, Caretaker Committee
Igabi Local Government Student Association
