Dear Besties 🤗❤️,
Watching the latest release of the movie Avatar, I was so moved by the conversation Zuko, the prince of the Fire Nation, had with his father, the Fire Lord.
The Fire Lord told Zuko, his son, that being compassionate only makes one weak.
Which i immediately disagree and find a total lie.
Respecting and honoring his father's words, Zuko later filled with rage, hate, and bitterness, and throughout the series, I never came across him receiving love or giving out love.
He felt that not being compassionate makes him stronger.
But being compassionate makes you strong and beautiful, and it is an important part of being human, and it's something that we all need to show and receive in order to build strong and healthy relationships.
In fact, showing compassion takes strength, vulnerability, and courage.
It's not easy to put yourself in someone else's shoes and understand their pain, but doing so is a sign of emotional maturity and intelligence.
I want you to note that compassion isn't about letting people walk all over you - it's about having empathy and wanting to help others, even when it's difficult.
The people who are truly compassionate are some of the strongest and most admirable people out there.
So don't ever think that showing compassion makes you weak - it actually makes you stronger.
Most teens and young adults have little or no compassion, and it is as a result of what their parents tell or instruct them.
Their parents may think that they're protecting their kids by telling them to mind their business, but in the process of doing that, they are actually building hard kids.
Kids with little or no compassion.
Let's imitate Christ; after all, it's compassion and love that made him die on the cross, heal the sick, and provide for the needy.
Be compassionate.
I love you and I'm always rooting for you.
