LET'S SHEATH THE POLITICAL SWORD BACK TO ITS SCABBARD!
Elections have come and gone in the country. Various political offices were keenly contested at different levels of the country. The political umpire had since announced the results of the contests. Certificates of return were already given to the winners. In every contests, there is a winner and a waiter.
All political contests are based on one basic premise - the need to serve members of the general public.
Since service to the people is the focal point of any political contests, the winners and the waiters (some call them losers) are expected to move the country forward, up to the time of the next contests. The winners are expected to form an all inclusive government that protects the collective interests of the citizenry. The waiters are expected to either join the government in moving the country forward or wait aside and provide constructive and purposeful criticisms needed to move the country forward.
All must desist from promoting primordial sentiments and emotions that could jeopardize the unity of the country.
We must sincerely desist from the pull him down syndrome and give the maximum cooperation for the government to succeed. At the same time the government must have a listening ears to all; accept corrections and make amends for the collective progress of the country.
