Currently happening in Brussels, we are attending the European Partnership for Democracy Annual Conference . This year’s theme, "Designing Democratic Resilience," focuses on moving beyond just reacting to democratic decline and instead actively strengthening institutions from the ground up.

This directly connects to our mission at , where we work to build democratic resilience across Africa by ensuring youth inclusion, safeguarding electoral integrity through our Kuri'a Project, championing transparency with the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and using civic tech tools like Murya to amplify local citizen voices. Global democratic resilience is impossible without active, empowered youth participation.

We are pleased to announce that will participate in two major international forums in Brussels, Belgium, advancing the role of African youth in global democratic governance. Our Chief Executive, Idris Bilyaminu Ndasadu'Lau will engage in the DemoWave Youth Forum on 8 June 2026, followed by the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) Annual Conference on 9 June 2026. Our participation provides a critical international platform to inject African grassroots evidence, youth-led insights and localized governance models into global dialogues.

These events convene global advocates, civil society actors and institutional partners to strengthen participatory democracy. Through these high-level interactions, we intend to scale our impact, secure strategic partnerships, and build support for youth-led democratic initiatives. We believe that sustainable development and resilient governance are entirely dependent on the inclusive, meaningful inclusion of young people in decision-making processes.

YAPD4Africa remains dedicated to expanding civic spaces, enhancing accountability, supporting grassroots communities and equipping young leaders with the tools to drive systemic change across the continent. By bringing our regional experience to Brussels, we aim to bridge the gap between community-rooted advocacy and international development frameworks.

We are deeply honored by ALDA’s invitation, which underscores our organizational expertise and track record in local governance and civic innovation. YAPD4Africa looks forward to collaborating on actionable solutions to shared global challenges while creating new pathways that directly empower the communities we serve.
