Today, UCAF Nigeria proudly joins the global community in celebrating World Youth Skills Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge, practical skills, creativity and innovation needed to thrive in an ever changing world.

Young people are the greatest asset of any nation. By investing in quality education, vocational training, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership and critical thinking we empower them to become job creators, responsible citizens, and drivers of sustainable development.

At UCAF Nigeria, we remain committed to promoting youth development through capacity-building programmes, mentorship, educational advocacy, and opportunities that inspire young people to discover their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

As we commemorate this special day, we encourage every young person to embrace lifelong learning, acquire relevant skills, and remain resilient in the face of challenges. The future belongs to those who are prepared for it.

Happy World Youth Skills Day!

"Before you can teach design thinking,
you have to think it yourself."

Abdul Ahad Dalhat and Sani Musa — in the Teacher Series —
on what the shift from instruction to facilitation demands.

It demands going through the 5 stages.
Sitting with not knowing.
Building something imperfect.
Returning to improve it.

Tomorrow: watch what a student looks like
at the end of that complete journey.

11/07/2026

Yesterday: "The moment a teacher starts asking
questions — the classroom changes."

Here's what that looks like in the platform.

Stage 4 — Iterations.

"No iterations yet. As you test and improve
your prototype, log each change here."

Problem found > Change made.

The platform doesn't reward students who submit fastest.
It rewards students who return — who test, find a flaw,
fix it, and document why.

That's not a bug in the design. That's the design.

10/07/2026

Sani Musa — UCAF facilitator:

"The moment a teacher starts asking questions
instead of giving answers — the classroom changes."

That sentence is both a diagnosis and a prescription.

Most classrooms reward the student who raises
their hand fastest. Design thinking asks the opposite:
sit with the not-knowing. Test your assumption.
Come back with what you found.

Tomorrow: watch the AIDeL stage where students
are expected to do exactly that — and the platform
waits for them to return.

Ibrahim Idris. Abdul Ahad Dalhat. Umar Adam.

Teachers going through the 5 stages of AIDeL —
as learners first.

"You cannot facilitate what you have not felt."

That's not a slogan. It is the design principle
behind the UCAF Teacher Series.

Every educator in this session will carry what
they experienced here back into their classroom.

Tomorrow: watch the AIDeL stage where students
take their prototype back to their community —
the same journey these teachers just lived.

03/07/2026

Yesterday: teachers asked to give everything
to a system that gave them almost nothing back.

This stage is built on a different principle.

Stage 5: TEST.

You might think from one angle that
you have totally solved the problem —
not knowing you are only touching the surface,
not even addressing the root cause.

Testing is not the end of the process.
It is the beginning of understanding whether
your solution was real — or just well-intentioned.

Students go back to the community.
Test with real people. Document responses.
Log every change. Return with data.

Stage 5 does not open until they do.

Because the person it is built for
is the only one qualified to say whether it works.

02/07/2026

The first thing is funding.

And when you follow the funding problem —
you find the teacher.

Underpaid. Overstretched. Under-supported.
Teaching three subjects to classes no single person
should be responsible for alone.

Farid Kamal Ibrahim — Smart Aid Initiative —
February Teacher Series.

We ask teachers to change everything about
how they teach — and we offer them almost nothing
to make that change possible.

The welfare problem is not separate from
the learning problem. It is the same problem.

Tomorrow: watch why AIDeL was built to show
teachers — not just tell them — that feedback
and iteration is where the real learning happens.

30/06/2026

Yesterday: "We are more competitors than collaborators."

Here is what changes when you give everyone the same framework.

It is almost the same brain all of us have.
The difference is that some brains have been forced
to think in a specific way.

Like prompting an AI: if you write "think like this,
step one this, step two this" — you get a better output.
Same thing with human brains.

Design thinking is that framework.

AIDeL makes it structural — not a workshop moment,
not a one-day training, but the daily process
every student follows from problem to solution.

When the framework is shared,
collaboration becomes natural.

29/06/2026

In Nigeria we are more competitors than collaborators.

Ibrahim Idris — UCAF — in the Teacher Series.

We see another educator doing good work —
and we copy without reaching out.
We see another school succeeding —
and we compete instead of asking: how do we both grow?

Collaboration is not weakness.
It is the design principle behind every great innovation.

The countries leading in education
are not doing it alone.

Why are we?

Tomorrow: watch the framework AIDeL puts into
every student's hands — because a brain with a
shared structure thinks further than one working alone.
