International Day of the Girl Child — 11 October 2025.

Theme: “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis”

To our girls, to our community, to the world:

Today we honour the strength, resilience, and leadership of girls everywhere. In times of crisis: conflict, climate upheaval, displacement, it is often girls who bear disproportionate burdens. But it is also often girls who rise, who lead, who transform.

I want to say to you, the girls of SATCI:
You are powerful! You are voices! You are change!
Don’t let fear, doubt, or barriers define your path.

What we celebrate today:

Your stories, your ambitions, your innovations.

The courage to lead even when circumstances are hard.

Every time you speak truth, demand justice, defend your dignity.

What we challenge you (and all of us) to do

1. Amplify your voice.
Speak up in class, in your community, online. Share your ideas. Influence decisions that affect you.

2. Lead in service.
Organize a peer group. Mentor younger girls. Start or join a social project. Change doesn’t always need grandeur — it starts with small acts.

3. Hold systems accountable.
Advocate for safe learning environments, access to healthcare and mental health support, and policies that protect girls from violence and discrimination.

4. Support one another.
No girl rises alone. Uplift your sisters, collaborate, build networks of solidarity. We grow stronger in unity.

And so, on this , we recognize that being a girl should never limit your potential even in the toughest moments. At SATCI, we believe in you; the girl you are, and the change you are called to lead. Let’s rise together, challenge injustice, and claim our place in leadership and impact.

The Dark Side of Fake Football Dreams: A Cry for Our Children!

Recently, I came across a story that broke my heart. A young African boy, full of dreams of becoming a football star, shared what really goes on behind the closed doors of some so-called “football academies” abroad.

He narrated how, night after night, boys were taken from the dormitory and brought back hours later—silent, broken, and bleeding. They would pass blood in the showers and toilets, yet none of them dared to speak. The trauma was buried under fear.

One night, it was his turn. He and his friend were taken into a dark room filled with naked men. They were ordered to perform acts of so**my; degrading acts meant to strip them of dignity, purity, and identity. His friend gave in under torture, but he refused. Instead, he prayed quietly, asking God for grace. For this, he was beaten, mocked, and told he would never be signed into the club.

This is the dark reality many parents don’t see when they rush to hand over their sons to strangers promising international football contracts. In the quest for fame and success, children are exposed to abuse, exploitation, and spiritual defilement.

As a child protection advocate, I cannot stay silent.
Parents, we must understand:

Not every open door is from God.

Not every “academy” is genuine.

Not every opportunity is worth the soul of your child.

We live in a time where darkness is after the souls of our children. Abuse, identity confusion, and hidden trauma are eating deep into the next generation. Many suffer in silence because they are threatened, shamed, or too broken to speak. Some even turn into abusers themselves because of the pain they never healed from.

This is why it is not enough to give children education and talent exposure, we must also give them godly foundations. A child armed with Scripture and strong spiritual grounding is harder to corrupt, even when faced with pressure.

Parents, instill godliness into your children early.
Teach them to know who they are in Christ.
Talk to them often about their fears, pressures, and choices.
Pray for them and with them.

The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6:
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

We are in the end times, and the battle for the souls of children is real. The world is pushing lies about identity, worth, and destiny. It is up to us to contend for our children, to shield them with truth, love, and prayer.

Let this be a wake-up call: Do not hand over your child to anyone without discernment. Fame is fleeting, but the soul of your child is eternal.

Parents, guardians, believers will you rise to protect this generation?

What do you think parents can do differently to protect children from hidden abuse in the name of opportunities?

Preserving the Future, One Child at a Time

Every child carries a spark, a promise of tomorrow wrapped in small hands and bright eyes.
But that spark must be nurtured, protected, and guided so it can shine into the future.

At SATCI, we believe no child should be silenced by fear, cut short by neglect, or lost to harmful choices.
We stand as a voice for the voiceless, a shield for the vulnerable, and a friend to every young dreamer.

Because preserving the future is more than a motto, it’s our heartbeat.

Together, we can build a generation that knows its worth, guards its purity, and dares to change the world.

MEET THE HEART BEHIND SATCI

A personal word from our founder...

I was once a little girl with big dreams, raised in a world that often silenced the voices of children. I’ve seen children cry without being heard, girls become mothers before their time, and boys forced to grow into men too soon, forgotten by the very systems meant to protect them.

That’s why I founded the Sanctuary for African Teenagers and Children Initiative- SATCI. Because every child deserves more than just survival; they deserve safety, identity, education, love, and a voice.

We’re not just a charity, we are a movement that is reaching the unreached, reforming the reached, and restoring one child and one community at a time.

I believe in a future where no child is unseen, unheard, or unprotected. That future begins with all of us.
