As part of ongoing conflict resolution and peace-building interventions, a community theatre and drama session was once again rolled out across the three project communities of Kpunyai, Chenchuk, and MiFi. This round featured a powerful, community-driven performance centered on the principles of amicable conflict resolution. Through captivating storytelling and emotionally charged scenes, the actors illustrated that genuine peace is achieved not through silence or aggression, but through open, honest, and respectful dialogue.

The drama brought to life familiar real-world situations where minor misunderstandings could have escalated into serious disputes, yet were peacefully resolved through patience, empathy, and mutual respect. The performance served as a strong reminder that community members possess the ability and responsibility to resolve conflicts constructively. By choosing to listen rather than react in anger, communities can build stronger, lasting bridges of understanding and unity.

Behind every screen is a real human being. 💻❤️

Digital abuse like doxxing, hate speech, and online threats destroys mental health, ruins careers, and threatens physical safety. The bruises might not always be visible, but the scars are just as deep.

It is time we treat online safety as a human right.

Stand against abuse. Anywhere. Everywhere.

The internet should be a safe space for everyone, but too often, it is a site of violence and harassment.

Today, as the kicks off, CRUDAN is stepping up to say: Enough. We are happy to join this global movement, but we know that real change happens with action. That is why, over the next couple of weeks, CRUDAN will be hosting various activities designed to educate, advocate, and provide tools to combat digital violence in Nigeria. We cannot do this alone.
Your voice matters in this fight.

The beauty of each intervention can only be documented through proper feedback and strategic engagement with the participants of the intervention. This week, our team has been carrying out Monitoring across 16 communities of Wurobokkie and Pariya wards of Fufore, where with the support of the Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (under the Aniticipatory Action Allocation), we provided Multipurpose Cash Assistance to vulnerable (flood prone) households.

Activation Alert – Riverine Floods Nigeria⚠️

Oxfam and CRUDAN have activated the Anticipatory Action Plan for riverine floods developed under the Welthungerhilfe Anticipatory Humanitarian Action Facility (WAHAFA).

💶€161,300 will be released to enable the implementation of anticipatory actions aimed at reducing humanitarian impacts of 1,775 households in Imburu, Numan before peak flood levels are reached.

Why is this important?
Based on hydrological monitoring around Numan, the Numan Anticipatory Action Committee (founded under the WAHAFA project) reported persistently high-water levels, primarily influenced by the release of Kiri dam upstream and above average rainfall. Complementing these observations, GloFAS forecasts a heightened probability for water level discharge exceeding annual averages at the Benue River, underscoring the elevated risk of significant inundation.

Taken together, these indicators highlight the need to roll out the Anticipatory Action Plan to mitigate potential impacts on communities.

⏱️What will happen next?
• Coordination with all relevant stakeholders such as Nigerian Meteorological Agency, the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency and the Numan Anticipatory Action Committee, and other AA actors in the area.
• Mobilization and awareness raising on mitigating flood impacts
• Procurement and distribution of water treatment tablets/chlorine, and oral rehydration salts
• Desilting of drainages and distribution of rain boots, hand gloves, wheelbarrow, rake, protective jackets, nose masks
• Multipurpose cash assistance

Our dedicated team was actively present in the Mifi, Kpunyei, and Chenchuk communities to oversee the implementation of the live fencing initiative. This field visit was not just routine it was a strategic effort to assess the project's progress, gauge community engagement, and ensure that the initiative is truly taking root.

The team closely examined the growth of the newly planted trees and engaged directly with farmers to understand their experiences, challenges, and insights regarding the implementation process. These conversations are vital, they allow us to adapt, improve, and reinforce the project's relevance to those it serves. Consistent monitoring is the backbone of our success. It ensures that our efforts remain aligned with community needs, fosters real-time learning, and empowers farmers with the support they need to establish these sustainable, protective barriers.

By championing the success of these live fences, we are actively preventing livestock encroachment, protecting agricultural livelihoods, and advancing our overarching mission: fostering peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.

📍Adamawa and Katsina

We have been actively working in the Northeast and Northwest regions, implementing an Anticipatory Humanitarian Action project in partnership with CRUDAN and Welthungerhilfe.

Recently, we concluded a series of capacity-sharing sessions with key stakeholders in Adamawa and Katsina states. These sessions focused on empowering local communities with the skills needed to establish Early Action Protocols for floods in Adamawa and drought in Katsina.

By enhancing preparedness and response, these protocols are vital for helping communities take proactive steps to reduce the impacts of these natural disasters.

With funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), we are building resilience and working towards a safer, more secure future for everyone.

This week started with intensive training for key stakeholders (farmers, herders, community leaders, security agencies, women and youth representatives) on Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) for Conflict Resolution and Mediation.

Through engaging sessions, participants:
1. Learned how to respond proactively to prevent escalation
2. Asked critical questions and received expert guidance on mediation and dialogue
3. Shared experiences from their communities to enrich collective learning.
4. Explored practical strategies for detecting early signs of conflict

The training aims to equip stakeholders with tools to identify, manage, and transform conflicts into opportunities for cooperation and peace.

Together, we are building a stronger foundation for resilient, peaceful communities in Kaduna State under the LiFeMiLE Project(SPRING)

Stay tuned for more updates from Day 2!
