Stronger local leadership leads to thriving communities!

We are thrilled to share that CRUDAN, in partnership with Oxfam, recently wrapped up a impactful two-day refresher training for the Ward Development Support Committees (WDSCs) in Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

This initiative is part of the "Support to Improving Social Cohesion through Community Development Planning (CDP)" Project in Northeast Nigeria, generously funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The training gave community leaders the practical tools they need to run successful, transparent, and accountable organizations. From financial management and resource mobilization to advocacy, resource mobilization, and proposal writing, these leaders are now fully equipped to champion sustainable development.

Moving forward, the participants have committed to taking charge of their own growth—mobilizing local resources and executing priority self-help community projects that unite and uplift everyone.

Director of Programs visited this School building constructed as a Self Help project by the Ward Development Support Committee established in Dukul Ward, Guyuk LGA, Adamawa state under the GIZ/Oxfam Supported Project titled Support to Improving Social Cohesion through Community Development Planning in Guyuk LGA of Adamawa State. The Committee have taken the capacity support given to them by CRUDAN to mobilize resources to carry out identified projects within their Wards.

CRUDAN in partnership with Oxfam, and Funding from GIZ and EU successfully organised a three-day Capacity Building Workshop on the National Chart of Accounts (NCOA) Framework on the 2nd to 4th of June 2026 in Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The workshop was organized to strengthen the capacity of Local Government Budget and Planning Officers in the understanding and application of the National Chart of Accounts (NCOA) Framework as a critical component of Public Financial Management (PFM) reforms in Nigeria.The training brought together budget officers, planning officers, finance personnel, and other key stakeholders from Guyuk Local Government Area to enhance their knowledge of NCOA structures, budget classifications, coding principles, IPSAS integration, and gender-responsive budgeting practices. Through presentations, practical exercises, group work, and interactive discussions, participants gained both theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the effective implementation of NCOA within Local Government financial management systems.The workshop emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, standardization of financial reporting, and improved budget formulation processes. Participants demonstrated increased understanding of NCOA coding structures and their application in budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and development planning.

Visit to the Education Secretary

"When we empower a girl to manage her health with dignity, we empower her to stay in school and chase her dreams, by teaching both boys and girls, we build a culture of respect and support."

We engaged the Education Secretary about creating awareness to students about menstrual health. We were given permission to start health programs in schools for both boys and girls to help keep students in school, address any shame and stigma around the topic.
