***Child Abuse***
On the 4th of September 2024, An 8 years old girl (name withheld) was burnt with a fire lighter on both of her hands and her upper lips, by her step grandmother Mrs. Christiana Clement, in the angwa rukuba area of Jos north local government area plateau state.
Our attention was drawn to the incident by a neighbour, Mr. Gideon Samuel Thongs (provost 1 angwa rukuba ward A), who saw her injuries and how she was unattended to by her family members.
The advocate show desk took necessary steps to investigate and report the case at the Nassarawa Gwong police station.
She received medical attention on the 6th of September 2024, with the support of Mr. Zachariah Sunday Diwong (DG. Foresight for societal growth and development) and Mrs Mafuyai Kyenpia; (Head of legal, National Human Right commission Jos plateau state).
Currently the case has been transferred from the Nassarawa Gwong police station to The Nigeria Police, state CID.
