What does your market look like? 👀

Across Plateau State, we are beginning to see positive efforts toward a cleaner and more organized city. The Plateau State Government, alongside environmental agencies and sanitation stakeholders, deserves commendation for the work being done so far in improving public spaces, road sanitation, waste management, and environmental awareness.

But the truth is — we can do better. Much better.

A truly modern and sustainable market should have:

♻️ Proper waste disposal systems
🚮 Waste bins at strategic locations
🚰 Functional drainage systems
🚻 Clean and accessible public toilets
🌱 Green and eco-friendly spaces
🚛 Regular waste collection
💡 Good lighting and safe walkways
👥 Organized trading spaces and public hygiene enforcement

⚠️ ‼️ The rains have started falling, and the result of careless waste disposal is already evident—blocked drainages and litter everywhere. When we dispose of waste irresponsibly, it will always find a place to go, and more often than not, it ends up in our drainages and rivers, causing flooding, water contamination, and serious health risks.

This is not just an environmental issue—it is a public safety concern for our city, Jos.

Every plastic bag, every bottle, every piece of waste dumped on the street contributes to the pollution of our water systems. Clogged drains lead to stagnant water, creating breeding grounds for diseases and worsening the impact of rainfall.

The solution is simple but requires discipline:
Dispose of waste properly. Use designated bins. Keep our surroundings clean.

A cleaner environment means safer water, better health, and a stronger community.

The responsibility is ours. The time to act is now.
