Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation Visits Riyom IDP Camp, Donates Food and Clothes, Conducts Medical Outreach and Sanitation Sensitization
As part of its commitment to sustainable human development and humanitarian service, the Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Riyom, where it donated food items and clothes, and carried out a medical outreach alongside a sanitation and hygiene sensitization program.
In his welcome remarks, the Gwom Rwei Riyom, Da Samuel Jok, expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for identifying with his people in their time of need. He noted that the Foundation’s intervention demonstrated that being people-centered is the true measure of leadership.
The Red Cross Camp Coordinator, Chundung Dyek, also thanked the Foundation for coming to their aid through the donation of food items and the medical outreach. She described the gesture as a miracle and an answered prayer, explaining that the camp had been unable to prepare any meals for the past three weeks.
The sanitation and environmental sensitization exercise was conducted by staff of the Plateau State Environmental and Sanitation Agency (PESPSA). The Foundation extended its gratitude to the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS - DMCMA), volunteers, and members of Team Bagos for contributing to the success of the visit.
Highlights of the outreach included free haircuts for children, hair washing for women, free malaria testing and treatment for various illnesses, communal cooking for the IDPs, and sanitation exercises such as drainage cleaning to improve hygiene in the camp.
