Alternative language

The essence of alternative language for the deaf child. Just like we (hearing ) all have more than one form of language to communicate with different people, so also the deaf needs an alternative language to be able to interact with their community. Sign Language (Total Communication) is the key alternative language for the deaf in other to relate and be productive with the general populace.
Most importantly, families of the deaf should as a matter of necessity learn this alternative language to help build family bond between them and their deaf child (ren). This will curtail a lot of behavioural outbursts that might arise as a result of barrier to interaction and family accomodations.
Learn Sign Language and interact with your deaf child (ren), neighbour, people you encounter.
