“Growing up as an orphan I didn't always have all my needs met yet food was very important to me and when I would walk to school and back I would be so hungry that my friends and I would go to a shop near the house and steal bread or biscuits when the shop owner wasn't looking so I could have a snack in school.’’
When hunger becomes so desperate that a child feels compelled to steal, we've failed as a community.
Recent research confirms what this experience illustrates: children who don't have enough to eat develop diminished capacity to understand and learn. They don't have to be starving for this to happen—even moderate hunger significantly impacts concentration, memory, and cognitive development.
For orphaned children without parental support, this challenge is especially acute. Without intervention, hunger creates a cycle that limits their potential and narrows their future opportunities.
Each meal you provide represents more than just calories—it's dignity, focus, and opportunity. It's the difference between a child who steals out of desperation and one who thrives with community support.
When we feed an orphaned child, we're not just addressing immediate hunger—we're nourishing their potential and breaking cycles of disadvantage.
Your donation can transform a hungry child's story from one of desperation to one of hope and achievement.
Together, we can ensure no vulnerable child needs to choose between hunger and dignity.
