Every successful public health campaign begins long before the first medicine is administered; it begins with people.

Ahead of the Mass Administration of Azithromycin (MDA) campaign, the SARMAAN programme convened a State-level Training of Trainers (SToT) to equip the workforce driving implementation across Kano State.

The training brought together:
• 36 Essential Drug Officers (EDOs) from all LGAs to strengthen medicine logistics and supply chain management.

• 360 state and local government health officials to enhance planning, coordination, supervision, and reporting for a successful MDA campaign.

By investing in the people who will deliver this intervention, SARMAAN is strengthening health systems, improving service delivery, and laying the groundwork for a successful campaign that will protect children aged 1–59 months with life-saving azithromycin.

Because when preparation is done right, every child has a better chance at a healthier future.

A proud moment for HANDS Nigeria as our documentary featuring the inspiring story of Anas, a participant in the CiSKuLA Project, was showcased at a high-level event at the UK Houses of Parliament.

Supported by CBM Global Disability Inclusion and implemented by HANDS Nigeria and the Jigawa State Government, the CiSKuLA Project helped restore hope and create opportunities for persons living with disabilities as a result of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Although Anas sadly passed away in 2024, his story continues to resonate, serving as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of inclusion, dignity, and opportunity.

We are deeply grateful to CBM Global Disability Inclusion for their continued partnership and belief in our work. Together, we are ensuring that stories like Anas’ are heard, inspiring awareness, influencing policy, and driving action for those most often left behind.

Partnerships create impact. Stories inspire change. Legacies live on.
