The report on the Smart brand creative hub foundation(SBCHF) JIMASUN medical outreach, December 13th -14th 2019.
On the 11th of December 2019, the SBCHF team embarked on their journey from Jos, Plateau state to the local government odAdo/Odo-Ota, Ogun state.
We reached Ogun state on the 12th of December and the commencement of the outreach was on the 13th and 14th of December 2019. The project name was, “Jimasun.” which means Awake.
We had 20 amazing volunteers, 30 professional Medical doctors who volunteered to be part of the outreach. Without them, this outreach will not have been possible.
We had the support of religious leaders, traditional leaders, and also youth-based associations that took part in the outreach.
We gave free medical care and consultation to 5000 people.
A lot of people are living in ignorance and do not have so much knowledge of the causes and dangers of some diseases. Our team decided to give back to the community by carrying out a free medical outreach and educating them on how to live a healthy life to avoid some illnesses.
We conducted the following medical test listed below :
1. Diabetes
2. Hypertension
3. Hepatitis B and C
We also gave deworming tablets, carried out minor surgery, and also distributed condoms.
We also did a comprehensive eye check for glaucoma and cataract.
We also distributed free eye drops and medicated eyeglasses.
We conducted free surgery for those with eye inflammation.
Furthermore, we distributed 5000 mosquito nets to the people of Ado/Odo-Ota local government to help prevent malaria.
As the old saying goes, Health is wealth. A lot of people out there do not have money to go to hospitals and they end up living with their diseases and sickness without a medical professional to administer and diagnose the right drugs. This outreach was our little way of helping the people of the Ado/odo-ota community who cannot afford medical care.
The outreach was a success and we would like to thank all our donors, well wishes, friends, supporters, doctors, and volunteers. This outreach would not have been possible without you all. We sincerely appreciate you all.
