At Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), we believe that meaningful impact is built on strong, strategic partnerships.

We were pleased to receive the team from International Alert Nigeria at our headquarters in Plateau State. During the visit, the International Alert team engaged with CRADI’s staff to gain deeper insights into CRADI’s operational models, administrative systems and program implementation approaches. The discussions highlighted our transparent, structured processes, adaptive methodologies and commitment to efficiency and accountability in delivering impactful interventions.

Partnership remains a core pillar of CRADI’s approach. It reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with like-minded organizations to drive innovation, strengthen systems and amplify impact across communities.

As we continue to expand our network of partners, CRADI stands ready, equipped with experience, expertise and a shared vision, to engage, collaborate and deliver results that matter.

RECAP Project Update

Data Collection Behind-the-Scenes

Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI) has been working behind-the-scenes to gather the needed data for the RECAP Project. Here is a glimpse into the successful completion of the data collection phase for the Peace and Conflict Analysis (PCA) under the Resilience, Engagement and Conflict Prevention for At-risk Populations’ Protection (RECAP) Project across 11 LGAs in Sokoto State.

This critical phase brought together a wide range of stakeholders and community respondents; whose openness, insights and active participation made the exercise both meaningful and impactful. Their contributions are instrumental in shaping a deeper understanding of local conflict dynamics and peacebuilding opportunities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders at the community and institutional levels; for their cooperation and support throughout the process.

A special commendation goes to our team of field data collectors; for their relentless efforts, professionalism, and resilience in navigating diverse terrains and contexts across all LGAs. Their commitment ensured the successful ex*****on of this exercise.

As we move forward, the insights gathered will play a key role in informing inclusive, evidence-based interventions that strengthen resilience and promote sustainable peace.

Here’s What We’ve Been Up To!

Young voices, powerful impact!
On March 26, 2026, Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), in partnership with the Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace Centre - DREP Centre. (DREP), convened youths from Plateau and Benue States in Makurdi for a transformative Peace & Freedom of Religion or Belief Festival. Through poetry, drama, and cultural expression, participants challenged stereotypes and promoted unity.

Key messages:
· Respect for diversity is the foundation for lasting peace
· Freedom of religion or belief must be protected for all
· Youth must lead in challenging hate, stereotypes, and intolerance
· Cultural expression is a powerful tool for healing and dialogue

Together, participants committed to sustaining peace efforts beyond the project building bridges across communities. 🤝

New Research Project Alert

Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI) was recently awarded a contract by International Alert, in a consortium with Action Against Hunger and Save the Child Initiative, to lead a comprehensive Peace and Conflict Analysis (PCA) under the Resilience, Engagement and Conflict Prevention for At-risk Populations’ Protection (RECAP) Project in Sokoto State.

Funded by the European Union (EU) through the Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI), this 18-month initiative aims to strengthen the resilience and protection of at-risk populations by addressing key drivers of vulnerability and conflict, while fostering inclusive community engagement and improved access to essential services.

CRADI will lead the PCA to generate robust, context-specific evidence on conflict dynamics, actors, and peace capacities across 11 LGAs in Sokoto State. The analysis will integrate a strong gender and inclusion lens, with a focus on critical sectors including climate resilience, women and youth economic empowerment, WASH, SRHR, MHPSS, and GBV.

The findings will directly inform program design and implementation.

From Awareness to Action: Equipping Communities with Real-Time Climate Tools

What happens when knowledge meets technology at the community level?

On 27th March 2026, the BRIDGE Project, implemented by the Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), trained Climate Early Warning Monitors (EWMs) in Plateau State on the use of the CRADI Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) Mobile Application.

Bringing together voices from government agencies, community leaders, farmer groups, pastoralist representatives and civil society, this training went beyond theory. Participants engaged directly with the mobile application, learning how to report, monitor and verify climate-related hazards in real time.

From representatives of Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA), All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Plateau State Climate Change Assembly to members of the Local Dialogue Platform and Community-Based Early Warning Sub-Committees, the room reflected a shared commitment: stronger, faster and more coordinated climate response systems.

One moment stood out-a participant expressed appreciation not just for the training, but for gaining access to a practical tool that empowers communities to act early. The session also created space to highlight CRADI’s broader work, including ongoing interventions in Bokkos LGA (Plateau State) and Buruku LGA (Benue).

This is what resilience looks like: communities equipped, connected and ready to respond to challenges.

Building Peace in Benue State!

We’re excited to share a recap from our Multi-Stakeholder Policy Dialogue on Youth, Peace, and Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in, Makurdi On 17th March 2026. The dialogue brought together youth leaders, farmers, herders, women, religious and traditional leaders, security agencies, and civil society actors to discuss practical ways to strengthen peace and promote coexistence.

Participants examined challenges in implementing the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranching Law, identified gaps, and co-created actionable strategies to foster collaboration, improve law enforcement, and involve youth in sustainable peacebuilding.

This dialogue is a step forward in building inclusive, community-driven approaches to peace and ensuring that youth voices and freedom of belief are central to policy and security strategies in Benue State.
