These last two days marked a powerful milestone as 16 Community-Based Organizations from Plateau State showcased impactful outcomes from the SSPF Project Close-Out. With DEC Management, the Local Approval Committee (LAC), the DEC-SSPF Project Team, and State MDAs in attendance, the event celebrated innovation, accountability, and community transformation.

ThinkShe Aid FoundationThinkShe Aid Foundation is proud to have been a grantee under the Development Exchange Center - Small Scale Project Fund (DEC-SSPF) and to have successfully implemented the Tech and Environment Empowerment Initiative in Jos South, Plateau State, from 2024 to 2025. We are honored to be certified for successful project completion.

We extend profound appreciation to the Development Exchange Centre Small Scale Project Fund team to the strengthening of the capacity of this organization to self implement its self- design project, the Local Approval Committee, and our technical partners Bluehouse Technologies and Federal College of Forestry Jos for their immense support and contributions to this implementation. To our participants and beneficiaries, we hope this impact lasts for decades and sustains for generations to come.

To the ThinkShe Aid Foundation team: thank you for your relentless volunteerism and for working behind the scenes with accountability and integrity.

Today at the News Central TV Town Hall on Recurrent Attacks Across the Middle Belt.

Representing ThinkShe Aid Foundation, the Executive Director Alexander Longdi Yildet joined Government officials, Security Agencies, CSOs, and community members and victims to discuss one hard truth: Why does the violence persist?

After years on the ground, the answer is not complicated, but it is uncomfortable.

The violence persists because of three things:

1. The conflict has shifted beyond the false farmer-herder narrative. What we are seeing now is organized armed violence tied to land control, identity, and political exclusion. Continuing to frame it as a farmer-herder issue oversimplifies the crisis and prevents real solutions.

2. Impunity has normalized violence. When perpetrators are not arrested and prosecuted, it sends a message that violence works. That fuels reprisals and erodes trust in state institutions.

3. Communities feel abandoned. Where state presence is weak, people resort to self-help and vigilante groups. That only escalates the conflict and makes it harder to restore order.

Our recommendations as a CSO on the ground:
- Strengthen early warning and early response systems at the community level so attacks are prevented, not just responded to.
- Ensure swift justice and accountability for all perpetrators, regardless of group or affiliation.
- Prioritize livelihood recovery and community healing for displaced populations. People cannot rebuild peace when they cannot feed their families.

The stakeholders in that room agreed that the current approach is not working. What we need now is coordinated action, not more talking.

The people of the Middle Belt deserve to farm without fear, to sleep without fear, and to rebuild without fear.

As we gather for the crossover night celebrations, let's prioritize our safety and well-being, especially for our women and girls. Unfortunately, we've had instances of r**e, sexual harassment, and assault in the past, particularly around the Secretariat Roundabout crossover night event venue.

Let's all take responsibility for our movements tonight:
- Plan your route and avoid lonely paths
- Stay with a group and keep an eye on your belongings
- Use trusted transportation and avoid walking alone
- Speak up if you feel uncomfortable or threatened

Let's work together to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Remember, we all have the right to feel safe and respected. Let's look out for each other and make this a night to remember for all the right reasons!

Stay safe out there, everyone! And report every suspicious activity around you!
Remember to speak up and never be silenced ๐Ÿ”•
