The sound of the drum is more than a rhythm; it is the heartbeat of our people. It carries our stories, celebrates our heritage, and reminds us of who we are.

DECLARATION OF INTEREST

“The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” — Ralph Nader

Leadership requires courage—the courage to stand for what is right, the courage to speak when others remain silent, and above all, the courage to step forward and serve when the people need purposeful leadership.

It is in this spirit of courage, service, and responsibility that I, Raphael Kwaria John, humbly declare my interest to contest for the position of Secretary General of the Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM).

My decision is not motivated by the desire for a title, but by the conviction that leadership is an opportunity to serve, unite, empower, and create opportunities for others. I am offering myself because I believe our youths deserve a leadership structure that listens to their voices, communicates effectively, promotes inclusiveness, and works tirelessly for their collective advancement.

MY VISION

My vision is to build a Secretariat that is accessible, transparent, responsive, and effective—a Secretariat where every Irigwe youth is valued, informed, represented, and given the opportunity to contribute to the development of our people.

Under the banner of SMART INK, I stand for:

S — Service: Putting the interests of Irigwe youths above personal interests.

M — Meaningful Leadership: Providing leadership that produces tangible results.

A — Accountability: Being responsible and transparent to the people.

R — Responsiveness: Listening and responding to the needs and concerns of our youths.

T — Transparency: Promoting openness in communication and administration.

INK — Knowledge, Ideas and Communication: Using information, creativity, and effective communication to connect and empower our people.

If elected, I will prioritize effective communication, equal access to opportunities, youth empowerment, unity, accountability, proper documentation, and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders.

I understand that the position of Secretary General is not merely an administrative office. It is a position that requires commitment, courage, competence, patience, and the willingness to serve everyone without discrimination.

Therefore, I have chosen to step forward—not because the journey will be easy, but because our collective progress is worth the courage to serve.

I respectfully seek the support, trust, and mandate of the good people of the Irigwe Youth Movement.

Together, let us write a new chapter of courageous, smart, transparent, and purposeful youth leadership.

Aspirant, Secretary General — Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM)

*DECLARATION OF INTEREST FOR THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL PRESIDENT IRIGWE YOUTH MOVEMENT*

For more than two decades, our people have endured insecurity, loss, displacement, disrupted livelihoods, interrupted education, and the painful consequences of underdevelopment.
But despite everything we have faced, the Irigwe spirit remains unbroken.

Our story cannot end with our suffering. It is time to turn our pain into purpose, our population into strength, and our challenges into a reason to organize, unite and build.

With humility, courage, and a deep sense of responsibility to our people, I, *Joshua Emmanuel Chohu (Artraktion),* hereby declare my interest to contest for the office of National President of the Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM).

I am not seeking this position for a title.
I am offering myself to serve.
I envision a movement that is:
*United*: where every Irigwe youth has a voice and a place.

*Organized*: with functional structures from the national leadership to the grassroots.
*Accountable* : where leadership is transparent and every leader is answerable to the people.

*Empowered*: creating pathways for skills, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, technology, employment and opportunity.

*Strategic* : engaging government, security institutions, development partners and other stakeholders with courage, facts and solutions.

*Peace-driven* : strengthening community resilience, responsible advocacy and constructive peacebuilding.

*Future-focused*: preparing a generation of competent, ethical and courageous Irigwe leaders.

My brothers and sisters, leadership is not about occupying a chair. Leadership is about carrying responsibility.
I do not promise that I have all the answers.
But I promise to listen, consult, work, communicate, advocate and remain accountable.

This is our time.
Our time to organize.
Our time to unite.
Our time to rebuild.
Our time to empower.
Our time to lead.

I respectfully ask for your prayers, counsel, support and partnership as I offer myself for this responsibility.

*JOSHUA EMMANUEL CHOHU (ARTRAKTION)*
For Unity. For Service. For Security. For Development. For the Future of Irigwe.
