The G16 Taraba Youth Development Initiative commends the Taraba State Government for the recent disbursement of One Hundred Million (₦100,000,000) to each Local Government Area to support grassroots development.

This intervention presents an important opportunity to address pressing community needs, strengthen local infrastructure, and improve the well-being of citizens across the state.

We urge local governments authorities to prioritize areas of youth development & skills acquisition, health, education, women empowerment and the general welfare of the people in the grassroots areas of Taraba state to deliver meaningful and lasting impact.

In line with our commitment to youth development, civic engagement, and good governance, The G16 Taraba Youth Development Initiative will continue to encourage transparency, community participation, and accountability in the implementation of projects funded through this allocation.

Together, through openness and collaboration, we can advance sustainable growth and development in Taraba State.

G16 Taraba Youth Development Initiative commends Taraba State Government on the establishment and formation of Taraba Youth Development Agency.

The G16 Taraba Youth Development initiative warmly congratulates Taraba Youth and the government of Taraba State on the establishment and formation of the board of Tarabba Youth Development C”Agency this decision underscores Taraba states commitment to promote youth inclusion, empowerment and active participation in governance and developmental processes.

G16 commends and recognize these as a crucial step towards harnessing the immense potential of young people and ensuring that their voices are reflected in policy making at levels.

As an initiative aimed at ensuring youth aspirations are mainstreamed into medium and long term developmental plans, G16 calls on the Taraba state youth development agency to ensure that young people are only consulted but are meaningfully engaged in shaping the policies and initiatives that affects their lives.

We call on all youth led organizations and young people in Taraba to actively participate in this important process sharing their perspectives and holding leaders accountable for actions together let's build a Taraba where everyone young person thrive.

*One Year On: Celebrating the Impact of the Youth Training Workshop on Effective Advocacy for Local Governance*

Exactly one year ago, a vibrant group of young changemakers came together to ignite a shared vision—*empowering youth to lead effective advocacy for transparent and accountable local governance*. The *Youth Training Workshop on Effective Advocacy for Local Governance* was not just a training; it was a movement.

Through intensive sessions, practical case studies, and powerful mentorship, participants gained the tools to:

* Understand governance structures and citizens’ rights,
* Engage meaningfully with local authorities,
* Advocate for inclusive development and
* Mobilize their communities toward positive change.

Since then, we’ve witnessed incredible stories of impact—from youth-led town hall meetings and policy dialogues to civic education campaigns and community development initiatives. The ripple effects are real, and they’re growing.

The G16 Taraba Youth Development Initiative recently hosted the Taraba Youth Leadership Development Summit in Jalingo, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in community development. Supported by LEAP Africa and the summit brought together change-makers from all 16 Local Government Areas to discuss strategies for empowering youth leadership. A key highlight was the unveiling of the Youth Leadership Development Guide, aimed at equipping young leaders with essential tools and resources for effective governance and advocacy, thereby fostering a more engaged and proactive youth community in Taraba State.

At the summit a panel discussion was held which discussion was focused on empowering youth leadership and Community development.
