M***i has always maintained his stance that he will never support your iru ekun security outfit, according to him, an elebo can never be trusted with our security. Some of us thought m***i was doing too much. Here we are igboho has disappointed us and proven m***i right.

First of all, the issue is personality based, tangling around defamation of character, but in order to attract public sympathy in support of your fellow idol worshiper , you labeled it religious and gave it tribal coloration.
A tribal bigot can never be a human right activist.

Sunday Igboho still have a lot to learn when it comes to human right activism.

- No human right activist will resist arrest or advise you to do same . They will instead tell you not to manhandle them.

- No human right activist will disobey a court order. They may say their mind as to which direction they ought the case should go , but will still follow the directive of the court or appeal the outcome.

If you must defend anybody , your approach must be backed by the law and no single order of court must be disobeyed or disregarded.

Activism outside the rule of law is hooliganism.

THE NAKED TRUTH: ISLAM IN YORUBALAND

Muslims across the world may differ in language, culture, traditions, and even in the way they understand certain aspects of life. But Islam itself does not change. Islam is one—whether it is practised in Africa, Asia, Europe, or anywhere else in the world. It is the same divine message, carried by the same faith, guided by the same Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). What changes is not Islam, but the people who carry it.

Everything that rises in this world eventually passes through seasons of strength and weakness. History has witnessed the rise and fall of great civilisations and powers. The Romans, the Tartars, the League of Nations and many others. Their eras came, flourished, and passed.

Islam too has witnessed periods of great strength and periods of weakness. And if we are honest with ourselves, we must acknowledge that Islam in Yorubaland is presently going through a period of serious decline. Yes, there are many Muslims. But where are the Muslims who are truly committed? Where are the people who will sacrifice their comfort for the sake of their faith? Where are the scholars, professionals, youths, leaders and families who will carry Islam beyond the walls of mosques and into education, politics, business, technology, media and every sphere where society is shaped?

Yoruba Islam needs a roof to protect its house. It needs strong foundations to withstand the storms. It needs lungs to breathe and a heart that beats with courage, knowledge and conviction. We must ask ourselves a painful question: If Islam cannot breathe freely through our character, our institutions, our families and our society, then what kind of Islam are we practising?

Islam is not merely something we profess with our tongues. It is a way of life. When Islam truly breathes, society breathes. When justice, knowledge, compassion, discipline, honesty and righteousness become visible through Muslims, the society around them begins to feel the beauty of Islam.

Perhaps what we are witnessing today is not the end of the story, but the closing of one chapter and the opening of another. The world is constantly changing, and history moves in seasons. A new phase is emerging, a phase in which Muslims must rise.

But the rise of Islam will not happen by wishful thinking. It will happen when Muslims rise, When our youths rise, When our scholars rise, When our families rise, When our professionals rise, and When we stop asking what Islam can give us and begin asking what we can give to Islam.

The naked truth is this: Yoruba Islam needs renewal. It needs courage. It needs knowledge. It needs unity. It needs sacrifice. And perhaps, by the will of Allah, we are standing at the doorway of a new beginning.

The decline is not our destiny. The rise can begin with us.

The Structures of the Ummah: A Hope for the Hopeless

Muslims in Yorubaland are meant to be an Ummah, a single nation united by one Book, one Qiblah, and one shared spiritual language. While humanity is made up of many nations and beliefs, Islam teaches us that those who do not share our faith belong to other nations. This difference, however, never negates our obligation to show kindness, justice, and compassion to all.

Islam, as a complete way of life, gives Muslims a unique identity among humankind. Yet, despite this uniqueness, Muslims in Yorubaland have struggled to function as a unified Ummah. The reason is simple but profound: the absence of functional structures that define and sustain an Ummah.

An Ummah is built upon three essential pillars: leadership, workforce, and followership. In Yorubaland, these pillars remain weak or unclear. We cannot confidently point to a single, widely recognized leader of Yoruba Muslims in the way the Sultan represents Muslims in Northern Nigeria. Without a clear and respected leadership structure, numbers alone become meaningless. A population without organization is valueless, regardless of its size.

Islam emphasizes togetherness. Individualism weakens us and strips us of relevance. Strong leadership is the foundation upon which Islamic systems are built—economic, political, educational, and social systems. These structures flourished during the Prophetic era, guided by unity, vision, and responsibility. Today, their absence makes us appear like strangers to our own faith, as though Islam is new to us rather than deeply rooted in our history.

This lack of cohesion has left the Ummah fragmented and ineffective. Until we rebuild our structures and embrace collective responsibility, we will continue to fall short of our potential.

We must consciously work toward becoming a true Ummah again. We need to be organized, united, and purpose-driven. Only then can the hopeless find hope within us, and only then can the world benefit from the services, values, and guidance Islam offers to humanity.

Young Muslims Engaged in Drone Piloting and Solar Power Training

Young Muslims in Lagos State on Saturday, August 22, 2026, participated in a practical and developmental training programme designed to equip them with valuable skills and prepare them to become more impactful contributors to society.

The programme, held at Bakre Disu Memorial High School, Lagos State, formerly known as Oniwaya High School, was organised by the Lagos/Ogun State Chapter of the Yoruba Muslim Professionals (YMP), under the leadership of Malam Sulaiman Kehinde Sodiq, and overseen by the National Executive Director, Barrister Sh*ta Olapade.

Experts from Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, led practical sessions on drone piloting and production, while other experts trained the participants in solar power system building and related technologies. Both male and female young Muslims participated actively in the training.

Speaking on the purpose of the programme, Barrister Sh*ta Olapade explained that the future of Islam, the transformation of Muslims, and the development of Muslim communities depend largely on the positive impact Muslims are able to make in society and what they can give back to their communities.

He emphasised that education has gone beyond theory, stressing the importance of practical knowledge and skills that can empower young people to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.

Other members of the National Executive of the Yoruba Muslim Professionals also participated in the programme, contributing to its success and making the seminar both engaging and impactful.

As the program continues today, Sunday, August 23, 2026, it will feature a talent exhibition as of the activities designed to identify, encourage and showcase the abilities of young Muslims.
