Local governments remain the closest tier of governance to the people, and their role in delivering meaningful empowerment cannot be overstated.
In Iwo Local Government, this responsibility is being effectively carried out under the dynamic leadership of Hon. Ishola Kamoli Adeniyi, the Executive Chairman of Iwo Local Government, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. His administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people through strategic interventions, particularly the recently executed monetary empowerment programme.
The Monetary Empowerment Initiative: A People-Centered Approach
The monetary empowerment programme introduced by Hon. Ishola Kamoli Adeniyi was designed as a direct response to the financial needs of the people. The initiative targeted key groups within the local government, including:
Youths and aspiring entrepreneurs
Women, especially widows and single mothers
Small-scale traders and artisans
Vulnerable and low-income households
Through this initiative, about 1,500 beneficiaries received financial support aimed at helping them establish or expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
