IDU Ire Ekiti Development Union was created by Trustees interested in registering Ire Ekiti's interests in the agitation for a New Local Government. Great Ire Ekiti Patriots came together and held hundreds of meetings, raised over Million naira and presented a Memorandum for a New Local Government Development Area with Headquarters at Ire Ekiti. Ire national Congress was the Umbrella body of all Ire Ekiti groups until August 8th, 2014. The Executives agreed to step down having b een in office for over 4 years and convened an Annual General meeting for same day. As the INC was 'Unregistered-able' by the CAC, It's presence wasn't felt so much in the Community and the Time for another Ire day was fast approaching; It was agreed that the INC name be dropped and in its place, IDU be adopted. The Group now Metamorphosed into what we have today. Earlier on in the Year, IDU was registered with the 'CAC', had a bank account opened and new Executive officers were elected. We hereby solicit for the cooperation of all Ire Ekiti Progressives, patriots and indigenes. As we pray for a Successive tenure and believe that God will help us all.
