REMO GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (RemoGDF) CONDOLES FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT INVOLVING ANTHONY OLUWAFEMI OLASENI JOSHUA

The Chairman and Members of the Governing Council of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF), led by Otunba Seni Adetu, have received with deep shock and profound sadness the news of the fatal road accident involving world-renowned boxing icon, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, which occurred today, Monday, December 29, 2025, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway within the Makun axis of Ogun State.

On behalf of the Governing Council and the entire RemoGDF family, Otunba Seni Adetu expresses heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in the unfortunate incident. The loss of human lives in such a sudden and painful manner is deeply distressing and a great tragedy to all.

While we thank Almighty God for sparing the life of Anthony Joshua and others who sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention, we mourn sincerely with the bereaved families whose loved ones did not survive the crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.

The Remo Growth and Development Foundation joins well-meaning Nigerians and the Ogun State Government in calling on motorists to exercise increased caution and strict adherence to traffic rules, particularly during the festive period when road traffic is usually heavy. We also commend the swift response of security and emergency personnel at the scene and encourage continued efforts toward improved road safety across the State and nation at large.

As a Foundation committed to the growth, safety, and development of Remoland, we pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for the speedy and full recovery of those injured. May Almighty God grant the bereaved families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

REMO DAY: A SYMBOL OF UNITY, HERITAGE AND PROGRESS IN REMOLAND

As the Pioneer Chairman of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF), I, Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin, proudly extol the visionary leadership of His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR (Torungbuwa II), the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, whose foresight and commitment led to the establishment of RemoGDF and the institutionalization of the annual Remo Day Celebration.

His Royal Majesty has played a decisive role in uniting Remo sons and daughters worldwide, strengthening harmony among our royal fathers, and fostering a spirit of collaboration and development across all Remo towns and communities. His leadership continues to inspire a renewed cultural pride and a shared determination for progress throughout Remoland.

I also appreciate the Remo Day Planning Committee and the RemoGDF Governing Council for their unwavering dedication to sustaining this significant annual event. Their work ensures that Remo Day remains a powerful platform for showcasing our heritage, celebrating our achievements, and reinforcing the bonds that tie us together as one Remo family.

I encourage all Remo sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to actively participate in Remo Day. Our collective involvement strengthens our unity, deepens our identity, and propels the socio-economic growth of Remoland.

In reflecting on our journey, I am confident that the founding fathers of Remoland would be immensely proud of what Remo Day represents today. They would see a people united in purpose, guided by shared values, and steadily advancing in peace, development and community upliftment. The progress we celebrate is a testament to their legacy and to our continued commitment to building a greater Remoland.

STATEMENT BY PRINCE WOLE SOWOLE 1ST VICE CHAIRMAN, REMOGDF & CHAIRMAN, REMO DAY 2025 PLANNING COMMITTEE

As we prepare for Remo Day 2025, I wish to emphasize that the strength of Remoland lies in the harmony between our cherished traditions and our collective drive for progress. Remo Day is more than an annual celebration; it is a reflection of who we are, our identity, unity, and shared heritage.

I deeply appreciate His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR (Torungbuwa II), the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, for his unwavering vision and commitment to the growth and development of Remoland in all spheres.

I also extend my sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Executive Governor of Ogun State, for his exemplary leadership and steadfast support. The construction of the Palace Pavilion at Ita-Oba, Sagamu, one of our major venues for Remo Day 2025, is a testament to his dedication to strengthening Remoland.

Our traditions give Remo Day its authenticity and remind us of the values that define us: respect, community spirit, enterprise, and cultural pride. At the same time, our commitment to innovation positions Remoland as a modern, dynamic, and forward-looking community. This is why the 2025 edition is designed to blend cultural heritage with contemporary ideas to drive growth in tourism, commerce, education, and socio-economic development.

We have put together an exciting lineup of activities across different communities to showcase the richness of Remo culture. I therefore call on all Remo sons and daughters, at home and abroad, and their friends, to join us, fully participate, and support the Remo Day 2025 celebration.

Truly, tradition gives Remo Day its soul, while progress gives it its wings.

AKARIGBO’S ENVOYS ENGAGE AKARIGBO CORPORATE COUNCIL CHAIR AHEAD OF REMO DAY 2025

Abiola Ogundeko | Friday, August 15, 2025

In a strategic move to strengthen partnerships and galvanize corporate support for the forthcoming Remo Day 2025 celebrations, a high-powered delegation representing His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairperson of the Akarigbo Corporate Council (ACC), Mrs. Victoria Uwadoka. The meeting took place at Nestlé Nigeria Plc Headquarters, Ilupeju, Lagos, on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The delegation, led by Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, Head of Finance Directorate of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) and Vice Chairman of the ACC, included Mr. Sola Oyenuga, Esq., Treasurer of RemoGDF, and Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko, Media and Publicity Adviser to RemoGDF. They were warmly received by Mrs. Uwadoka, who also serves as the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager of Nestlé Nigeria Plc.

In his opening remarks, Engr. Ogunsanya conveyed the goodwill of the revered monarch and outlined the core purpose of the visit — advancing preparations for a colorful and befitting second edition of Remo Day (Nigeria), scheduled for December 21–27, 2025, in Remoland. He provided an executive summary of the 2024 maiden edition, highlighting its unifying impact on Remo indigenes both at home and in the diaspora, and underscoring the expanded scope for the upcoming celebration.

The 2025 edition will showcase Remoland’s cultural pride and developmental vision through events such as the Remo Beauty Pageant, the Dance Drama, and the Grand Rally. Pre-event activities will kick off in October with a press conference in Sagamu.

Delivering the royal message on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko lauded the dedication of Akarigbo Corporate Council (ACC) members to Remo’s progress through various corporate social responsibility initiatives. The monarch urged the Council to sustain its impact, particularly in youth development, women empowerment, job creation, and community infrastructure projects.

Responding, Mrs. Uwadoka expressed deep appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the ACC’s commitment to Remoland’s socio-economic transformation. She praised the monarch’s foresight in establishing both RemoGDF and the Akarigbo Corporate Council, pledging stronger involvement in Remo Day 2025. She also requested visual documentation from the 2024 edition to guide this year’s planning and emphasized prioritizing human capital development for Remo youth.

In a notable gesture of personal commitment, Engr. Ogunsanya volunteered to sponsor the ACC Management Office in Remoland for one year, a move expected to enhance the implementation of Council initiatives.

The meeting concluded with resolutions to hold the next physical gathering of ACC members on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Nestlé Nigeria Plc, Ilupeju, hosted by Mrs. Uwadoka. Coordination of regular meetings will be supported by Mr. Oyenuga and Omo’ba Ogundeko.

The session ended on a cordial note with the presentation of royal gifts from His Royal Majesty to the ACC Chair, symbolizing unity of purpose and shared vision for the advancement of Remoland.
