Luciano Global Development Initiative Honours Lagos First lady

Luciano Global Development Initiative (LGDI), a non-profit making organisation on Monday 21st of September, 2026, decorated the First lady of Lady and wife of the Lagos State Governor, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudia Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, with a Special Humanitarian Award.

The award was formally presented to the First Lady was during a courtesy visit at her in her office at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos by the founder of the initiative, Princess Adekemi Lucy Adetuwo-Olaniyi.

The award was part of the initiative's 10th anniversary ceremony held on Saturday 16th May, 2026. Over thirty persons were presented with recognition awards for their sacrificial supports for Luciano Global Development Initiative.

The initiative was led by its Founder/Chief Executive Officer, Princess Adekemi Lucy Adetuwo-Olaniyi. Other members of the team included Prince Samuel Olaniyi, Apostle (Engr.) Ayodele Oladotun, Mr. Obinna Nnorom and Mrs. Florence Atomode. Key members of the organisation highlighted the challenges and needs of the initiative to the Her Excellency with the hope of prompt response.

Responding to the initiative, Dr. (Mrs.) Sanwo-Olu thanked Luciano Global Development Initiative for its foresight in attending to the needs of the less privileged.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, showed appreciation for the honour giving to her saying, "I really cherished this award. This is a beautiful gift and encouraging. LUCIANO Global Development Initiative is intentional about its business."

She promised to respond to the challenges and needs of the initiative with the limited financial resources available to her office, urging the NGO to keep its vision alive.

A moment of support. A step toward stability. 💚

Following one of our recent outreach programs, a young pregnant woman reached out to us for help. She is doing her best to care for herself and prepare for her child despite difficult circumstances.

GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE engaged with her, provided a meal, and supported her with food items. To ensure we offered the right kind of help, our team also visited her residence to better understand her living condition.

After careful assessment and discussion, we guided her towards starting a small-scale pap (akamu) business—an option suited to her environment.

As seen here, Luciano Global Development Initiative presented her with ₦30,000 as start-up support for this initiative.

At LGDI, we focus on giving that is thoughtful, practical, and —because every step forward matters.

The 10th Anniversary Celebration of (LGDI) was a huge success and a memorable one indeed.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who supported, , attended, prayed, and stood by us in one way or another. Your love and kindness made the event impactful and beautiful.

One of the touching moments was the presentation of a to an 18-year-old girl who finds it difficult to walk for a few minutes. More also came in towards supporting additional wheelchairs and humanitarian .
