Comrade Nigeria, a youth-led civic engagement group, and member of the prestigious Obama Leadership Network presents the Youth Advocacy Workshop (YAW), a transformative event targeting undergraduate students in Lagos, Nigeria.
What is the YAW?
Recognizing the current economic challenges and rising tuition fees (up to 400%) across public universities in the country, this workshop, scheduled for April 4 - 6, 2024, will equip 100 undergraduate students with the skills and resources they need to become effective advocates for affordable and equitable education in Nigeria. The workshop will be held in a hybrid format, 2 online sessions (4th and 5th April) and a physical event hosted at the University of Lagos on the 6th.
Why should you attend?
The program will include:
- Interactive workshops led by experienced trainers on advocacy techniques, research, policy analysis, and communication.
- Mentorship sessions, connecting participants with established advocates and leaders.
- Case studies and simulations, providing practical application of learned skills.
- Scholarship award: Recognizing and rewarding outstanding participants with financial support for their education.
- Network Launch: Building the Nigerian Students Advocacy Network
through online and offline platforms.
