🌱 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CHILD IS GIVEN A CHANCE TO DREAM?
In 2019, we walked into Gaa Ayekale, a rural community in Kwara State, and met children who were out of school.
We asked them a simple question:
“What do you want to become when you grow up?”
The answers were heartbreaking.
Many couldn’t answer.
One little boy did.
“olokada” - “A commercial bike rider.”
Not because it was his greatest dream, perhaps—but because it was the world he knew.
We enrolled him in school.
Years later, something beautiful happened.
He changed his answer.
Today, that same boy wants to become a TEACHER.đź“š
That is what education can do.
Education doesn’t just put a child in a classroom.
It expands the boundaries of what that child believes is possible.
And this is why we are taking the Campaign to Kulende Community, Ilorin.
This time, we are looking for 50 indigent and underserved children whose potential may be hidden behind poverty, exclusion and circumstances beyond their control.
We want to find them.
We want to hear their stories.
We want to give them a chance.
We want to help them dream bigger.
Because somewhere in Kulende today, there may be a future doctor, teacher, engineer, scientist, entrepreneur, leader or changemaker who simply needs someone to say:
Your circumstances do not have to define your future.
On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Yattiyr Scholarship Foundation, in partnership with the Kulende Community, begins this journey.
It is about building a community where poverty does not decide who gets to learn, and where a child’s dream is not limited by what they see around them.
Because sometimes, all a dream needs is an opportunity.
