OJAGBORO YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION TO CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COMMUNITY-FOCUSED ACTIVITIES

The Ojagboro Youth Development Association (OYDA) is proud to formally announce to the general public the celebration of its 20th Anniversary, marking two decades of dedicated service, youth development, community progress, and impactful leadership.

Since its establishment in 2006, OYDA has remained committed to promoting unity, empowering young people, supporting education, and advancing the overall development of the Ojagboro community. The 20th anniversary celebration will therefore serve as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to a greater future.

The anniversary, themed “Two Decades of Impact: Strengthening Youth Leadership for a Sustainable Future,” will be observed as a week-long celebration featuring a series of impactful programmes and activities designed to engage, empower, and benefit the entire community.

The grand finale of the celebration is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 31st May 2026, at 10:00am at Government Day Secondary School, Isale Koko, Ojagboro, Ilorin, Kwara State.

As part of the activities lined up for this historic celebration, the association has unveiled a rich programme lineup that reflects its longstanding commitment to youth advancement and community development.

He appreciated past and present members, elders, stakeholders, and supporters whose contributions have sustained the vision of the association, while calling on all sons and daughters of Ojagboro, friends of the community, and the general public to join in celebrating this remarkable journey.

OYDA lauds Senator Salihu Mustapha 2025 Ramadan relief Package.

The leadership of Ojagboro Youth Development Association has shown its appreciation to the Senator representing the Kwara Central senatorial district over the Ramadan relief package for the sustainability of his constituency, specifically for the Ojagboro community during this sacred month of Ramadan.

It's imperative to acknowledge the philanthropic hands stretching to Ojagboro community to alleviate the ravaging hardship in the country and supporting the vulnerable people during this period.

It's an encomium for OYDA to receive a magnanimous gesture from the Senator and remarkably reiterate his commitment in driving forward sustainable development goals of the Ojagboro Community. The Association also reaffirms the unprecedented measure in supporting welfare and well-being of our communions.

The above-named Association under the leadership of Mall. Muhammad Solihu Babatunde expresses her unquantifiable gratitude to the Mall. Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha (LOM) the Chairman Board of Trustee Sobi FM and former Executive Director of Loans and Mortgage Service (L&MS), Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. Over the usual and relentless support for his people. The persistent gesture is aiming to support the economic downturn and distress of the people of Ojagboro community.

On Tuesday, the leadership of OYDA received the Ramadan packages from Mall. Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha Foundation, a philanthropist and paradigmatic leader who prioritizes the welfare and well-being of the people, not only for the Ojagboro community but also for Kwara State at large. His generosity is known to alleviate hardship and support vulnerable individuals, especially in this sacred month of Ramadan.

On the same vein, OYDA appreciates Mall. LOM for the JAMB scholarship to support Educational program of the Association, which was facilitated by Mall. Kayode Onikahun. These multifaceted remarks have portrayed his magnanimity of driven-development for the people of Ojagboro community and its environs.

OYDA welcomed IEYDA executives to her weekly Congress for the Inclusive Administration Tour.

On the 26th of Jan. Ojagboro Youth Development Association under the leadership of the mall. Muhammad Solihu Babatunde had welcomed the executive body of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) ably led by the National President Alhaji Muhammad Uthman Jaguma, as an apex development association that aims to foster dividends of responsibility and welfarism to the least level of vulnerability, through the representing community development associations across the Ilorin Emirate metropolitan.

During the visit, we had a robust engagement with the IEYDA executives who graciously interacted with the members of OYDA in strengthening the weekly meeting. Both associations shared unwavering experience toward the efforts in building human and capital development which is benefiting the youth and women across the Ilorin Emirate. According to the spokesperson of the IEYDA, who enlightened the congress with the aims and objectives of IEYDA and how passionately HRH Alh. Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari the Emir of Ilorin has blessed the youth movement, “Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association is a capstone platform for the youth of Ilorin Emirate, it embraces love, unity, and tranquility among the Ilorites”.

He further acknowledged the members and executives of OYDA for their resilience, commitment, and dedication to upholding love and unity among one another and emphasized the Association’s transition which is evident for the apex development body on its truthfulness and commitment to developing the community.

Furthermore, Alhaji Muhammad Uthman Jaguma expressed his enthusiasm and how he was overwhelmed by OYDA's agendas which gave space for different progressive thoughts and submissions by the members of the Association. He was also elated by the relentless efforts of the Association’s committees which have birthed many landmarks and accomplishments for the association’s triumph. Hence, he (Jaguma) together with his executives supported the Association’s course with some amounts of money while pledging for more contributions in the future.

The OYDA executives also acknowledged the presence of the stakeholders, prominent individuals, and well-meaning members of the Ojagboro community, and for their unflinching support to transcend the image of the association respectively. However, the immense contributions of Barr. Abdulkareem Alabi, Hon. Ibrahim Bolakale, and Mall. Isiaka Dumo towards the academic support of the less privileged students both in primary and secondary school, embodied a good patriotism and a humanitarian service worthy of emulation. Likewise, everyone's contribution is not going unnoticed by this administration.

The leadership of above named Association under the umbrella of Mall. Muhammad Solihu Babatunde has expressed her immense appreciation to the Solihu Mustapha Foundation, stirred by the Turaki of Ilorin.

OYDA, the Association that had known for its accustomed gratitude towards the received gestures from any individuals and/or organizations, has appreciated the affable foundation that catered the educational schemes and prioritizes academic excellence of individuals and students not only in this community but also in kwara state at large.

It’s imperative to reiterate the feats of commitment and educational development that have been shown by the Mall. Salihu Mustapha Senator representing Kwara Central senatorial District, who is doubles as the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate through his foundation.

The incessant contribution of the Mallam to the Ojagboro community not only in socioeconomic aspects but also in educational sectors is undoubtedly one of the resources that always keeps the administration forward and by enhancing its development.

However, it’s an encomium for the Association to announce the numbers of WAEC & JAMB that have received from the foundation which would shape the academic pursuit of the beneficiaries. Also, it's worthy enough to appreciate a full scholarship program in to University that was benefited by a member of this association.

The beneficiary of the University's scholarship, whose name is Zulikarnain Balla Yusuf, from Ile Oloko Ojagboro Ilorin, on behalf of the stakeholders and members of the Association, says JAZAKUMULLAHI KAIRA for the benevolent Man, Turaki of Ilorin.

The leadership of above named Association ably led Mall. Muhammad Solihu Babatunde and its stakeholders have appreciated the council Chairman of Ilorin East local government Area, on the juicy appointment of their members.

It's an encomium to receive the news of five Ojagboro community's members who are selected as aids, in the recent appointments by the Ilorin east local government chairman. Hence, the leadership and the stakeholders of the association show their heartfelt gratitude for finding their members worthy of appointment among the many competent individuals. It's also a great privilege for the appointees to be included in this administration and local regional government.

The Association implores all the appointees to continue to uphold steadfastness, dedication, and commitment to their given dispensary tasks. Also describes the appointment as evident to their perseverance and commitment to the development of the local government and the state at large. Therefore, they are indulged to represent a good ambassador of the Ojagboro community, while they are exalting the image of the community in their dispositions.

“May the appointment be a fruitful one and benefit the people of the Ojagboro community both at home and diaspora”. The Chairman prayed.

On the same vein, the Association also appreciate the Hon. Chairman of Ilorin East local government, Hon. Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere for his unquantifiable gesture toward the full scholarship of two members of the Ojagboro community who are now having their National Diploma (ND) program at the College of Technology Osogbo. The scholarship was facilitated by an avid politician in the person of Mall. Yahyah Zulukarnaini Kola Kokeu.

Kokeu has been known for his tremendous impact on skyrocketing community development through his political acumen. This unquantifiable gesture has recorded an indelible remark for his trademarks. Also, it's served as a patriotism that is worthy of emulation. His keenness in prioritizing the welfare and education sectors of our dear community can never be overemphasized.

Lastly, the Association encourages individuals to continue putting OJAGBORO FIRST in our commitments as we are strengthening the enabling environment for the rapprochement and community at large.
