LETTER TO Verydarkblackman
What VeryDarkMan said and concluded about the demands allegedly made by the bandits who abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State comes across, to me, as unfairly targeting Islam.
What surprises me is that in many other matters, he usually calls for proper investigations before reaching conclusions. But in this case, he quickly concluded that it was part of a plan to Islamize Nigeria without presenting any solid evidence.
How can people who claim to be fighting for Sharia be involved in killing innocent people, ra**ng women, smoking ma*****na, abusing drugs, and committing other crimes that are clearly forbidden in Islam? These actions go directly against the principles of Sharia and Islamic teachings.
This is why it is difficult to accept the claim that their actions are motivated by Islam. To me, these criminals have no regard for religion or the fear of God. Yet, despite all the contradictions, the conclusion was still that this is an attempt to Islamize Nigeria.
As someone with a large following among young people, you should be careful not to promote narratives that can create division and religious tension. Influencers have a responsibility to encourage unity and help Nigerians stand together against banditry, terrorism, and insecurity, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
Honestly, I am disappointed by this position. I expected a more balanced and evidence-based approach.
May God grant Nigeria peace, protect innocent lives, and expose whoever is behind the banditry, killings, and insecurity affecting our nation.
