34 Years of Courage, Strength, and Unwavering Resilience
Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone in the life of our Chairman, Mr. Yusuf Tihamiyu—34 years since he sustained a spinal cord injury.
Thirty-four years ago, life took an unexpected turn, a journey filled with challenges, pain, uncertainty, and obstacles that many could never imagine. Yet, rather than allowing his circumstances to define him, Mr. Yusuf Tihamiyu chose courage over despair, strength over weakness, and purpose over limitation.
For over three decades, he has remained a shining example of resilience, determination, and hope. Through his leadership, countless spinal cord injury survivors have found encouragement, support, and the confidence to believe that life does not end with an injury. His voice has become a source of advocacy, his actions a source of inspiration, and his life a testimony that true strength is measured not by one's ability to walk, but by one's ability to keep moving forward despite every challenge.
As Chairman of SCIAN, he has dedicated himself to uplifting others, championing inclusion, fighting for the rights of persons with disabilities, and proving that disability is not inability. Many of us have drawn strength from his wisdom, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to the spinal cord injury community.
Today, we do not celebrate the injury. We celebrate the man who refused to be defeated by it.
We celebrate 34 years of resilience.
We celebrate 34 years of leadership.
We celebrate 34 years of impact.
We celebrate 34 years of inspiring others to rise above their circumstances.
Sir, your journey reminds us that while a spinal cord injury may change the course of a life, it can never diminish the value, purpose, or greatness within a person.
Thank you for your sacrifice, your service, your mentorship, and your steadfast commitment to SCIAN and the spinal cord injury community.
May your story continue to inspire generations to come.
