A New Chapter Begins at Obafemi Awolowo University...
It is a landmark day for Great Ife! Today, Thursday, March 12, 2026, we officially welcomed Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello as he arrived at the university to preside over his maiden Council Meeting as the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The atmosphere at Floor O of the university was one of immense joy and unity. The Pro-Chancellor was warmly received by the representatives of NAAT, NASU, SSANU, and NANTS.
On behalf of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), the Chairman, Comrade Matthew Oluwaniyi, presented an official letter of congratulation to Rt. Hon. Bello. The university management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Bamire, also welcome and afterwards led the new Chairman of Council to the Conference Room.
We look forward to the visionary leadership Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello will bring to this prestigious institution. Together, we continue the pursuit of excellence in "Learning and Culture."

HISTORY MADE! NAAT-OAU SENDS OFF 36 RETIREES & HONORS FORMER MEMBERS IN LANDMARK CEREMONY🎉🎉🎉

On Thursday, 26th November 2025, the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Obafemi Awolowo University, made history by hosting its largest-ever Retiree Send-Off and Former Members Appreciation Service!

This wasn’t just another send-off, it was a powerful tribute to 36 incredible colleagues who retired between Dec 2020–Dec 2024, plus those who resigned or were redesignated into new career paths. Their dedication, service, and impact on our academic community will never be forgotten.

We celebrated their legacies with:
✅ Emotional tributes & heartfelt speeches
✅ Recognition of resignations & redesignations
✅ Uplifting performances & dancing! 💃🕺
✅ A moving vote of thanks from retirees themselves
✅ And a beautiful gathering at the Great Pit Theater of Dramatic Arts.
