Anticipating World Malaria Day 2026 🦟

Theme: Driven to End Malaria.

As we anticipate World Malaria Day 2026, BLF is focusing its lens on the health and wellbeing of our Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).

Malaria is preventable and treatable, yet it continues to pose a serious risk to our young women. For many AGYW, limited access to accurate information and prevention tools increases their vulnerability.

Our message this year is simple: Prevention starts with awareness, and awareness starts with us.

We remain because every AGYW deserves to live healthy and free from preventable diseases.

A malaria-free future is possible, and it starts with us!

Digital Advocacy, Telling Stories and Driving Change

As part of the GEF grantee’s Organization Capacity Strengthening activity, we successfully hosted a Content Creation Training on Vlog/Blog for Advocacy at the Brokline Foundation Conference Hall, bringing together our amazing team and AGYW Advocates to strengthen their skills in digital storytelling and advocacy with support from Y+ Global

From learning how to create and manage blog/vlog platforms to developing compelling advocacy content and documenting powerful stories of change, staff gained hands-on experience to amplify voices and drive impact with technical support from a seasoned Social media influencer, Oga Yenne

With these skills, our team is now better positioned to increase visibility, influence change, and ensure that the voices of Adolescent Girls and Young Women are heard loud and clear.

The future of advocacy is digital and we are ready!

As a Media Volunteer at Brokline Foundation, I spent World TB Day capturing the faces of resilience, especially our Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) who are leading this charge.

While the Federal Government leads, our community provides the power to ensure every girl is screened and supported.

Through the Gender Equality Fund supported by Y+ Global, we are documenting the journey of AGYW from awareness to action.

Reflections from our Communications Desk

The Campaign Continues: Empowering our AGYW Beyond World TB Day

World TB Day 2026 may have passed, but our mission to protect our Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) is just getting started.

As we move forward, our communication remains clear: TB is a gender-sensitive issue.
For our AGYW, factors like limited access to health information and the stigma surrounding respiratory health can be barriers to care.

What we are doing next:

-Amplifying Voices: Using the Gender Equality Fund project to ensure every girl knows her rights to TB screening and treatment.
-Strengthening Referrals: Moving from national policy to community action by making our Youth Friendly Centres the primary link to government-led health services.
-Breaking Stigma: Continuing the conversation in our safe spaces so that no young woman feels ashamed to seek help.

The Federal Government has provided the roadmap, but BLF and our community are the power behind the progress.
When we protect the health of a girl, we protect the future of a nation.

WORLD TB DAY 2026

Theme: Yes! We Can End TB: Led by Federal Government, Powered by Communities.

Tuberculosis remains a major health challenge, but it is one we have the power to overcome.

While the Federal Government provides the strategic roadmap and national policy, Brokline Foundation and our local communities are the active engine driving this change.

In our OVC Project and through the Gender Equality Fund, we are focusing on those most at risk and Children and Adolescents Living with HIV (CALHIV) and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).

When the government leads and the community powers the movement, TB has no hiding place.

Yes! We Can End TB.

In the fight against TB, every digit tells a story. For our CALHIV in the OVC Project, accurate data is what ensures they never miss a TB screening or a life-saving appointment.

When the data is precise, the care is perfect. We track the numbers to protect the lives.
