IKOT EDIET YOUTH EXECUTIVES HOST EXECUTIVE MEETING.
…calls for inclusivity.
In a bid to run an inclusive government, the newly inaugurated youth executives of IKEYA held their first executive meeting today, aimed at promoting unity and addressing vital issues affecting the youth.
The event, which was held at the Ikot Ediet Village Council Hall, had in attendance the Village Head, Etteidung F. A. Umoekot, his family head counterpart, as well as other dignitaries.
Addressing the youth, the Youth President, Comr. Gabriel Akpan, expressed his appreciation to all the youth executives, whom he described as team members, for accepting the responsibility to pilot the affairs of the youth in the village. He also pledged to run an inclusive government where everyone is carried along.
Also speaking, the Youth Patron, Comr. Elijah Jonah, threw his weight of support behind the newly inaugurated executives, charging all members to work hand in hand to foster the unity and growth of the association. He expressed his utmost happiness, noting that brotherhood continues after the electioneering period.
In his address, the Village Head appreciated the youth once again for their level of cooperation and understanding, and pledged to support the youth at all times when the need arises.
Responding, the Youth Adviser, Comr. Akaninyene Ukanideh, appreciated the Village Head as well as the Youth President for convening the strategic meeting. He added that this would boost the morale and working relationship between the youth and the Village Council.
The meeting had in attendance members of the new executives as well as a representative from Global Concord Newspaper.
