The truth is… no one needs to hand you a mic before you start leading.
Leadership isn’t something you grow into someday — it begins with how you think today.

We often think leadership starts when you get a title, when you’re older, or when you finally “arrive.”
But that delay mindset is a trap.

Growth doesn’t wait for status. Leadership starts with responsibility — the decision to own your life, your actions, your direction.

If you keep waiting to feel “ready,” you’ll miss the very moments designed to prepare you.

That’s what Youth Unleashed is about — helping you step into leadership now so you can shape tomorrow.

Real leaders are built from the inside out.

Join us and learn how to lead with confidence, clarity, and influence.

Let me begin by saying that there is no one size fits all leadership style. It all depends on the situation at hand. An effective leader often communicates to his followers with various styles, which may include Autocratic, Democratic, Laissez-Faire, and so on.

A good leader should understand the art of influencing the followers, which requires the leader to know how to apply different leadership styles in any given situation. Personally, my own leadership style framework is to make things clear to my followers.

I adopt different approaches and at different times. These could be democratic style, in order to seek employees’ opinion in any given task. Autocratic style, when I have to make key decisions without the input of the employees, and Laissez-faire style, when employees can be allowed to take decisions and report back to me.

Remember, each style has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the onus is on the leader to understand the given situation and know which style to apply.

Sometime ago, I read about a young boy who was arrested for snatching a woman's purse containing less than ten dollars. Weeks later, when asked by a judge why he stole the money, the boy responded, "Because the world owes me a living." I laughed so hard when I read the story.

Really, one could reason that this poor boy has believed a lie and acted upon it. Ladies and Gentlemen, hear me clearly: The world owes you nothing! You owe the world by giving back to society. The book of Romans 8:19 says, “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.”

Listen, the whole world awaits to see your exploits that will affect the lives of others positively. Myles Munroe once said, “Do not be a generational thief.” Just think about the good things you enjoy today – the Light, Airplane, Car, TV, Internet, Telephone, and others – someone paid the price so you can enjoy it.

What price are you willing to pay to make the world around you a better place? Remember, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Shalom!

Luke 11:28 says, blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it.” Beloved, it is in hearing and obeying God’s word that you are blessed. If I may ask: What has the Lord been sounding like a bell to your hearing since the beginning of the year?

Ignore God’s word to your peril. Like King Saul, many have been rejected by God, and have found themselves toiling without end due to their rebellion (1 Samuel 15; 1 Samuel 16:1). The bible declares in Isaiah 1:19, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land."

Peradventure you’re struggling to hear and obey God’s word, just create time for him, and humbly ask for his mercy in prayer (Isaiah 40:31). The Lord says in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call upon Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

As you embark on this new month of February, may the hand and glory of God come upon you. May the Lord open your eyes to see and reveal deep secrets that will unlock your great destiny in Jesus Mighty Name (Deut. 29:29). Hallelujah! Happy New Month.

Shalom!
