This Saturday, weโ€™re showing up for our community ๐Ÿ’›

As we gear up towards our 2nd EMPOWERED Outreach, we will be creating a safe space for honest conversations, learning, and empowerment around health, wellbeing, and making informed choices. From real-life stories to practical knowledge, itโ€™s going to be all about equipping young people with what they need to thrive.

At Adolescent Girls Summit (AGS) 2026 ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ, we showed up and showed out. ๐Ÿ’›

Our Executive Director Chidinma Ogugua-Obata alongside team members from UNESCO and AGE co-facilitated the Day 2 breakout session on "Prevention and Response to School Violence" at the AGS in Yamoussoukro, Cรดte d'Ivoire.

Adolescent girls from across West Africa came into that room carrying real experiences. Together, they named the violence, unpacked the root causes, and co-created community-rooted action points, all anchored by one shared vision: Zero Tolerance for School Violence by 2028.

It was the kind of session that reminds you that young people already have the answers. They just need the space to speak them out loud.

And we came prepared. ๐Ÿ“š
We distributed copies of our newly launched comic series, created specifically to speak to young people in a language that feels familiar, honest, and theirs.

We are grateful to Global Fund for Children and every partner who made AGS 2026 possible. The conversations from that room are coming home with us, into our schools, our communities, and our work. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’ช Healthy minds + healthy bodies = empowered adolescents!

โœจ Last month at LFC Enugu HQ, we gathered an amazing group of adolescents for an engaging session on Adolescent Health. Together, we explored some of the most pressing challenges young people face today, from nutritional health to mental well-being.

๐Ÿ’ก The conversations were fun, interactive, and eye-opening! The adolescents didnโ€™t just learn, they also shared their thoughts, asked questions, and discovered practical tips to stay healthy in body and mind.

๐ŸŒฑ Investing in adolescent health means investing in the future, and weโ€™re proud to create safe spaces where young people can learn, connect, and grow.

๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’œ PHOTO HIGHLIGHTS โ€” GBV Prevention in School Settings

Our outreach on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention in School Settings brought powerful conversations into the classroom!

Through open discussions and interactive sessions, we:
๐Ÿ”ธ Explained what GBV is and the different forms it takes; beating, name-calling, bullying, unwanted touching, and more.
๐Ÿ”ธ Taught students the meaning of consent, that โ€œnoโ€ means no, and everyone has the right to choose what feels safe.
๐Ÿ”ธ Helped them understand personal boundaries, how to spot harmful behavior, and how to speak up and support each other.

These pictures capture the energy, curiosity, and bold voices of the young people we reached.
Together, we can build safer schools and stronger communities. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ
