Oto-Awori Kick-starts Its Maiden Edition of Church And Mosque Annual Friendly Football Match

In a bid to foster the already existing cordial relationship among them, the Muslim and Christian faithfuls of Oto-Awori Central Mosque and United African Methodist Church, Oto-Awori Circuit Headquarter on Tuesday 31st December, 2024 converged at the Church and Mosque Opened Space (Old Night Market), Oto-Awori to play an end-of-the year friendly football match.

The first of its kind football match which was participated by both active and retired footballers within Oto-Awori who worship at the pioneer mosque and church in the town was full of many exciting moments from both individuals and teams which saw the Central Mosque team coming out on top against their counterparts representing the UAMC with two unresponding goals.

Although, the United African Methodist Church team had their own moments to win the match or at least, reduced the deficit, but squandered their chances by missing three penalties rightly awarded to them.

In their joint speech, the organizers, 2024 edition of Oto-Awori Church and Mosque Annual Football Friendly Match warmly appreciated the HRM, Oba (Elder) Aina Josiah Olanrewaju Ilemobade Kuyamiku 1. Oloto of Oto-Awori kingdom and Oloto-in-council represented by Chief Otunba and Osunba, Oto-Awori kingdom, the Chief Imam, Oto-Awori Land, (Alhaji) El-Imam Muhammad Taofeeq Arogundade, the RT Revd Emmanuel Abolanle Aderounmu JP, The Lord Bishop, United African Methodist Church, Oto-Awori Circuit Headquarter, the Chairman, Oto-Awori Muslim Community, Alhaji Agoro Adeshina, the Preacher , UAMC, Brother (Pa) H.O Opeifa and many others who contributed towards the success of the maiden edition of the United African Methodist Church, Oto-Awori Circuit Headquarter and Oto-Awori Central Mosque Annual Friendly Football Match. We hope next year's edition will be more fascinating and continue to unite residents of Oto-Awori town.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR, NYCN, OTO-AWORI LCDA

The Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Oto-Awori LCDA, Comrade Aina Adewale Adeoye on behalf of Management and Executive Members felicities with our energetic and resourceful youths in Oto-Awori LCDA on the occasion of the New Year Celebration.

As we begin yet another interesting journey of 365 days, I want to specially appreciate everyone for your mutual cooperation, courage and peace coexistence which were catalysts for the success recorded in our Youth Council and LCDA as a whole in 2023. Indeed, 2024 will be filled with even greater achievements and celebrations if we remain unite and support the course of the Youth Council Management, Executives and leadership of Oto-Awori Local Council Development in the same vein we've done in the past years by reflecting on our lapses and successes respectively.

Lastly, I want to implore us to embrace ourselves for the huge tasks ahead in 2024 as we continue our bid to impact lives, Oto-Awori LCDA and Lagos State at large positively.
